Transmissions Fluid How much should I put in and what kind of should I get for my "02 WRX Modified...? I need recommendations ASAP
MT or AUTO? If MT I would go for uncle scotty's cocktail..the best stuff around. IMHO 1qt Redline lightweight shockproof 1qt Pennzoil Synchromesh 2qt Castrol HypoyC 80w-90 If auto Amsoil seems to get good reviews
True. Amsoil and redline both have fluids that are not recommended for synchro's. The stuff is just to slippery for them to work properly. I am going to go out on a limb and say that Taras probably has the bad stuff. It might work good now, but come talk to me in 20k (if it makes it that far). Russ
can't agree more. I actually had redline ns in the tranny, which should be good....but after a few miles my synchros were crying. Switching over to the Cocktail really helped and the car shifts smooth as butter.
actually I put it in for him and I believe it was the right stuff... (he is learning ) but I didnt really check just put in what he wanted.... the NS was put in the rear
