    Hello all,

I'm currently thinking about purchaseing a used 02 wrx sedan MT the seller is private party and his price for is 9,500$ with 105,000 miles. Is this a fair price the car has some dents on it but overall 8/10. One plomblem is he doesnt have any records of matinence done at 90,000 or others. what is the annual matinence at 30,000, 60,000, and 90,000 and how much is it to get the 90,000 done with mnsubaru discount ie timing belt, water pump ect...

    thanks alot!!!!

    Peter

...and clutch, probably going to need a new one soon if it hasn't been replaced yet. Also, how are the syncros, does it shift smooth? can you tell if it's been moded? maybe look at the heat shields around the turbo, are they still there and intact?

I would personally pay a shop the money to put it up on a rack and let you look at the engine from below to look for any major leaks.

Just call mntka subaru service and tell them you're apart of MNsubaru and ask for the price.

Sounds about right. I picked mine up for $9200 @ 112,000 miles. There are a few people here who would gladly do some maintenance work for you for much cheaper than a stealership.

If this is a dark blue (almost black) WRX be careful. My coworker looked at one for the same price and miles locally and it had definately been 'reverted to stock'. The Turbo heat shields were missing and the intake duct was missing. Sloppy work if you ask me. But the price is low I suppose.

I noticed on the ad he stated it had to be gone by the 10th, so he is probably open to offers, even though he orignally stated 9500 firm.

It still might be worth it if you can get him to come down on the price. Intake and heat shields are easy to replace....probably pick up both from someone here for real cheap.

Have someone that has modified a wrx look at the car with/for you. Maybe pay 25-50 to have them look into if for you....Provided you can get the guy to come down a bit. Probably take less than 10 minutes for someone to determine if the car is a POS or not.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM......DID YOU KNOW THE OWNER OF THAT CAR IS ON THIS FORUM....LOL....But just trust me the car is GOOD...He is my best friend, he is on here but not very active....So yeah the car is good in my opioin, the real reason he is selling it is becasue he can't deal with the gas millage...it's too much $$ for him..If u don't believe me offer him a car with low milage and good on gas..and he will consider it right away..And feel free to ask him to take it to anyone to check it out in every way...because it runs very well and all the matince was done one time...he bought it with 99000 miles on it I believe, I was there with him...and the owner said he did the 90000mile matince him self that's why he did not have any records...but we really didn't care weather he did them or not because we were gonna change everything and check everything...We changed alot but again if u want to take and check it go ahead....AND ABOUT the heatshield and the intake air ducts, trust me THE CAR WILL RUN WITH OUT THEM...AND just to let u guys know HE NEEDS TO GET RID OF IT THIS WEEKEND SO.... JUST A THOUGHT...BECAUSE HE NEEDS THE $$$$.........
