What car are we talking about? Sounds like an oil pickup. But that wouldn't explain why your oil has a gas smell. Definitely wanna get that fixed ASAP.

How many miles and what kind of driving?

Gas smell is usually from things like long idling, lots of low speed city driving or possibly something mechnical like worn rings/excess gas getting past the rings which don't really effect oil pressure to trigger the oil light. Start with the sensor/wiring, then check the pickup screen/pickup itself. If its none of those it might be something expensive/more time consuming to check/repair like bearings. At that point it might be worth sending in a used oil analysis to see what, if any, excessive wear materials are floating around in there.

The next thing you also have to worry about is that if your oil smells like gas, that means your oil is getting real thin, like you are washing down the cylinder walls and you are going to kill the motor thin.

What kinda of gas mileage are you getting?? Did you pull a plug and look at that yet?? Do you still have about the same power?? Have you drain the oil to see if it is getting real thin??

I have seen fuel pressure regulators go and start dumping a ton of gas. You usually take a pretty larger mileage hit when that happens. Then you start washing down the cylinder walls, your oil smells like gas then you start eating crank/rod bearings because the oil gets thin.

Getting about between 18 and20 miles to the gallon. I have not gotten a power loss but at idle feels like a missfire but no code is thrown and sometimes while driving I get a power surge (like the feeling you get when you dump the clutch and not giving it enough gas) or sometimes I will get a power boost like vtec.
