well i've been sittin on these sti shocks waitin for a good time to put them in... me and awdimprezaL's brother tim attempted to do this today and we finished the front but the rears seem almost impossible... the bolts that hold the strut on the knuckle are facing in so the nut is on the axle side and there's almost no way to get at them... i'm not sure if thats how they are supposed to be cause it seems more logical to have the bolts facing the opposite way so you can zip them out...and on top of it they are siezed... not sure what to do please help thanks matt
hahah you guys are funnie!!!! even if it's not on the NUT SIDE, you can still loosen the BOLT side... air tools my man...air tools...well you can actually use 1/2" rachet with your 19mm socket on the bolt side, and a 19mm wrench on the nuts side (axle boot side).
good ole tricky struts. i have a 4' cheater bar that works great on those big 19mm nuts/bolts. just soray em with liquid wrench, heat em and spray again. then TQ the hell out of em. if they break pound em out and get new ones.
well the top one spins a little but cant be pounded out with anything i have... we were gonna use heat but it just so happens the acetylene is out... i suppose i'll give it another whirl in the morning but i'm stuck with manual labor this time around... thx for the input
Yeah, I don't like the way they have these set-up, without the right tools it is a pain or impossible. I have the tools you need. Let me know if you want help. I'm available Friday AM and can help you out...
