Im gonna ship my STI seats out for a buyer on the East coast but I dont know whats the best way to ship these. Any one shipped seats before that can help me out? I know UPS and DHL have some sort of services. I might as well go to UPS tomorrow with the seats and find out if no one knows nothing about it. Thanks

If you go to UPS, be prepared to have your seats damaged thoroughly during shipping. DHL would be good, or FedEx freight.

I got a couple of those big wardrobe boxes from U-Haul, cut them down a little bit and re-taped them together. Not pretty but it worked fine. Fedex and UPS have a max size limit based on L+W+H; can't exceed a certain number, I forget what. My boxes were at that limit.

If the two parts of seat come apart fairly easily it will obviously be much easier to find boxes for them. I think that is what some people do.

I would vote for Fedex Ground or DHL; UPS is more $.

I managed to cram a Bride Bucket into a box and send it via USPS, but reclinables are going to be a grip.

I shipped a v8 seat in a medium wardrobe box you need to retape the box thoroughly but it worked really well. cost me $25 bucks with insurance from Fedex. i wouldnt use anyone else to ship.

Where in the East coast are you shipping them? I'll be driving out there soon.

I might do that! But I gotta go find big enough boxes. Did you have them reclined/fold down? Also, which fed-ex facility did you go to?

I think its in Ellmsworth, Maine. I don't think you would have enough room in your vehicle unless you have a U-haul or something.

mine were reclined as far as they could go. If you can get them basically horizontal, that is less dead space in the box and thus a smaller box overall. Or if they fold forward on themselves that would conserve space too. But leaving them upright is probably easiest for packing, esp. if the seat rails are attached since they will be pretty bottom-heavy. Really just depends on the seat and what you can find for boxes.

If you're willing to wait a couple of weeks, I'd could get it there in a 12' ABF moving truck.
