need help with openport cable and vista

    ok...i've search here and on enginuity and openecu and could fine the answer...so..

    ...just bought an openport cable...i have everything pluged where they're suppose to...but it wont let me do anything with the ecu...(reading from...load to...test load...etc..)...at the bottom of ecuflash screen...no vehicle interface...

    and it won't let me log with enginuity too...only com port3 shows up...no other choices...i'm sure there someone out there that can help...

    i think we were planning on just 'down grading' to xp...but if there's a way i can get it to work on vista..i would still like to try...i'm sure others will find this thread useful too...thanks

    Downgrade, from what I here, is a good idea. Everyone I know that works IT has been getting rid of it.... heck even Dell had to start offering XP again on their machines.

    Did you install as following:

    1) Install newest version of ECUFlash (unsure what version number)
    2) Plug in tactrix cable, and click "find drivers automatically" or "search this location" (and point at ecuflash install folder).

    You may also need to run ECUFlash with the user access control turned off, or specifically as an admin.
