I bought a car from Vancouver, Canada that doesn't drive. The shipper can get it half way down here and through customs. I am looking to pay someone to pick it up halfwayish (Like Montana or the Dakotas) Does anyone know someone heading out there with a car hauler or know anybody that wants to make some cash picking it up? The freight companies want alot of extra cash for a "non-running" vehicle but its all but gutted so its pretty light. Oh, and the car is a Sierra Cosworth Motorsport shell. Ford of Europe sold these to rally teams in the 80s. They are often referred to as a "body in white" and come with factory chassis stiffening and they are seam-welded. I'm pretty stoked!
when will it be in the dakotas? where in which dakota would he be going to? I am only an hour away from fargo, ND
Do you have a car hauler? Are you willing to go west a couple hours and then to Minneapolis? Times and meeting location are flexible.
Yes I have the ability to haul a car. I don't know that it is something could do for a couple of weeks though. I just thought the info would be helpful to others considering the money. I will let you know in a couple of days.
More info on what you had to deal with for customs? Also shipping company etc.. Thanks PM me is ok as well. Oh and that car is ****ing sick. I saw one in MN a few years ago..may have been a copy but i remember it being awd or atleast rwd (not a merker)
fuel transport, or concord transportation, often pick up freight to bring to canada from the company i work for in minneapolis. they maybe looking for back-haul? its just a suggestion not sure how much as to a cost.
The Merkur is RWD. And some people have done the c-pillar delete to make them look like the Euro Escort. The Mercur XR4Ti is essentially the same car, just with a ton of extra "luxury" crap that makes it heavy. And there are AWD conversions (essentially an entire Cosworth drivetrain) around too, just not many.
