ok...i drive an 02 wrx and i have blitz catback only for exhaust. i plan on getting perrin up/down pipe real soon with cobb ap. so with that said, i'm looking at three turbos rite now. vf22, big16g, or 18g. one of my question is with the 18g, can my tranny keep up with it in the long run..??..or do i need to upgrade that too..? and also, for all the turbos listed, do i need to upgrade to bigger intercooler..?? and i'll be getting walbro fuel pump too...but if i'm shooting for 260-300 whp...what size injectors would be good to go with..?? this will be a daily driven car so i dont want to go all out for power wise. what i want is for quicker spool, not so much high top end because i can never use that power on the streets and i don't plan on tracking it or anything...so really then...that puts the 18g out of the picture...still i would like my questions above answer though...thanks for looking and helping out...and for those who's saying this has been cover...please keep comment to self because i've looked and couln't fine some answers...thanks..

i would go with the 16g. it will give you some good power and good spool. 18g is not that much more hp and it cost a bit more and the vf22 is well ? i would go with the 16g. your tranny should hold up just fine. as long as you arent dumb and drive correctly..... as far as injectors go i would say get dome 600 or someting around there. iam not an expert at that so some other guys can chime in. but it sounds like you arent going for a monster. and i would deffinutly get a bigger TMIC. it will be worth it and you will be able to get better hp numbers.

VF39 got me almost 270 whp. And they are cheaper. Screw the 16G Also 680 or 700 on the injectors.

Well, I have tuned all three of them. Go with the big16g/evo III. Spool vs output between the 16 and 18 doesn't make it worth it. The 16 will spool up quicker and give you almost the same output at the 18g. I would take pretty much all of the ihi turbo's and throw them away. the only reason to go with the ihi turbo (vf whatever) is cuz you want to do it on the cheap. With the mitsh turbos, you can easily run 19-20+ on pump and crank it up to 25-26 on 110 and the turbo's will keep up. A ihi trying to push any more than 19-20psi will just kill itself.

You will definitly need pump and injectors and tmic. I am running 630's with my 18g and my idc's are around 90% at 22psi. So you would want atleast a 650 or so. Your stock tmic will not be able to keep up with the cfm that a upgraded turbo will flow, so that will also need to be changed. And since you are doing all these mods, you might as well throw in a inlet pipe at the same time.
