I could really use some good tires, but I can't afford to pay $500 for new ones. I actually sold my set of Rotas with new tires because I am pregnant and needed extra money. I am currently using some pretty spendy winter tires on my stock 02-03 rims. I need some summer tires so I don't destroy those. The thing is, I just got hosed by a guy on NASIOC. I bought stock 06-07 rims and what he said were decent tires, with plenty of tread left. I just got the wheels a few days ago, and the tires are terrible! Completely bald, except one brand new General tire with lots of tread and a completely different tread pattern. Two of the tires are stock Potenzas, and the third is a crappy, bald Yokahama. Because of this D-bag, I'm going to spend as much on beat-up, used rims and tires as I got for my Rotas. On top of this ^ issue, I was all excited to buy Gridlocked's (Ted's) tires. Unfortunately, he has taken them off the market. .....Then, I was going to buy FastMatt's tires. He sold them right away. .....Then, Bielke's tires- (taken off the market too) .....Then, 1_Sic_Rex's- but there is a sale pending So I'm pissed off that I spent a lot of money on tires I can't even use. I'm even more mad that the guy lied to me about the tires, and that I had to pay for shipping. Now, I have to pay to dispose of the tires! I keep getting the short end of the stick when it comes to buying some decent tires on here, too. I have been on UNPAID maternity leave for two weeks now. I can't afford another $400 purchase. I am pissy, pregnant, and now two days OVERDUE. Give me a break! Somebody sell me some good summer tires that will fit the stock 17" WRX rims. /rant. Cassie
I have a set of 17 Hankooks 235/45/17 you can have that will at least get you by for a season or almost two. Their too small for the wide rims I have anyway. For some reason I was thinking about what I was going to do with these tires today as I was putting the summer car back together for the summer. So do you know if you're having a boy or a girl? My sister is going to have my neufew hopefully this weekend.
I have a set of 205/55r16 GoodYear UltraGrips on my XT6 that have some tread on them. they are snow tires, but are worn enough that the tread compound is hard like an all-season, so I had no intention of running them next winter. I've got a set of summer tires to replace them, and was just going to run them until they wear out, but I bet they'll last much of the summer, even with me using them. anyway, they're not exactly high-performance tires, but they'll get you through the summer. I'll let them go for the cost of having my new ones mounted ($40ish at Sam's). and you can use my membership to mount them on your stock wheels. let me know.
i just got hankooh k107's from tirerack for 77 bucks apiece, 358 after shipping. they're on clearance, I don't know if this is too expensive, but it is a pretty good deal. Mine were 225 45 17's so stock size should be cheaper. check em out...
http://www.3gwrx.com/forum/index.php?topic=6761.0 Stock 08 tires for $150 with less than 1 month usage.
I have a set of stock WRX wheels with good tires on them you can use until you get something else. Let me know, I'll even drop them off for you to help you out.
Where are you located? I could have Bielke or Sgrtits pick them up for me if you are in the cities area. And SubyNate and I are having a girl, if she ever comes out...
I'd give you a set of mine but all I have are 15's Good luck with the little one though, you'll have to put up some pics when she finally makes an appearance
I have a set of RE92s off my 07 stock rims (225/45/17). Plenty of life left. You can have them if someone picks them up (St. Louis Park). Sean
CONGRAT'S!!! to you both. I live in St Michael, up north the other direction of Duluth, right next door to Albertville Outlet malls. 30mins from the twin cities. Just pm me if you still want them and we'll figure it out. Official Hankook Drift tires. Z212 - Ventus RS2
Cassie, i told you to file a paypal claim against the nasioc user... you may have to send them some pics but its stupid to let him get away with that and just run with the money. paypal will side with you and you can get some of your money back, hell tell them your ultimate outcome would be half the money back to buy tires and then you wont feel so bad?
Isn't stock wrx rims 16" anyhow I try opening a card at discount tires? They may be expensive but you get a warranty on them and the 0 interest for 6 months? I did that just a few months ago when my tire blew out on 94 and it helped much because I didn't have the money at the time. Anyhow good luck!
u should go down and talk to phil at svs. id bet he would give ya a good price on mounting, just dont try to rush him into getting them done haha.
It's nice to see the comradery on this forum. Kudo's to all! I know you guys are busy with the new baby, but since this thread I've received some inquiries about these tires. Let me know if you're still interested, you have first dipps and as for the other guys a little gas money would be nice, don't worry I run on 92 octane. LOL
I finally went to get my (FREE!) Tires mounted and balanced on the rims that I purchaced. The techs informed me that two of the rims are bent! What do I do about this? I got totally screwed! I contacted the seller and he of course won't refund the money. He siad he didn't know the rims were bent, so it isn't any problem of his. Also, the techs measured the tread on the crap tires he sold me- 3/32" tread left on three tires and 9/32" tread on the last one (with a completely different tread patter). He still stands by his previous statement that the tires were in "good" condition and.
Some times if paypal came out of your visa/mastercard you can have your credit account reverse the payment then go after paypal to go after the guy who sold you the crap wheels and tires
the monies came out of the bank account, i wish we had put it on a credit card so a simple call and a charge back would be made but thats not the case
if it's through Paypal, they can still get your money back. I've used the paypal claims system a couple times, and have always gotten great results.
