I need to have my lips re-polished and clear coated. Actually, I can clear coat them I guess, I just need them polished up again. Is there anyone here that does this, or has a high speed polisher I could use to buff out my wheel lips? I had a bit of a problem with one of my Wilwood calipers spraying brake fluid and it ruined my front wheels. I would like to polish all four of them up so they look new.

I got a battery powerd dremel tool. You are welcome to come over and use it and the garage. Shouldn't take but a few hours eh? Lemme know if you are interested.

Thanks guys, I too have a Dremel, but I don't have the time to sit and polish them. I'll give some of those places a call.

Anyone ever use their services? Just wondering if anyone knew how long it takes for minor repairs. I just want to know if I have to leave my car there or if I can bring it in and wait.

I call them out yesterday they were close when I called them, 7am-5pm at the minneapolis keystone. I will get the estimation how much it will cost me to get them all done. Of course I have to do next week.

Yeah, find out for all 4. It sounds like they take your wheels and either replace them with refurbished wheels of the same type, or they refinish yours...if they refinish yours, they powder-coat them and polish them. I would hate to have one wheel polished and powdercoated while the others looked like ass.

Ok, forget that. I called them up and they want 280 bucks per wheel to fix them up. I could easily buy new wheels for that price. I would rather buy an air compressor and a die-grinder with a wire wheel attachment and a polishing pad attachment and just do this **** myself.

That is more than double the price they quoted me, and that was to weld in a missing piece on one. I might be tempted to go in there and try to set up a discount account or something. I am sure there are plenty of people around that could use wheel work once in a while.

I have tools and compounds that work fine on wheel lips or any aluminum for that matter. I polished some m/c wheel lips and the only hard part is removing the clear coat finish that comes on the wheels. If you're still looking for this work PM me and we'll talk. I could also paint those for you or anyone else since that falls under my hobby work. ( In other words it's not free but I'm not trying to make a living at it). Jeff

I might take you up on this. I am doing alot of landscaping this summer so it will be hard to convince my wife that buying a compressor and assorted tools is a good idea. The clear coat will need to be stripped off the lip, but I want the wheel color to remain intact as the finish is rare.

Well last week I called a few wheel repair shops, one I reached that was closed to my work was at hopkings The precious wheels. I tryed to get an estimation how much they will charged me for the 2 damage rims that I bought from dan, so far they told me they were unfixable. And the one wheel that didn't hold air into it which were bend around the ratio, they told me they were repair before cuz of the thinnest on the rim edges, as well they both weren't fixable. I'm keep on trying Keystone here I come!!!

Nope, I am certain he meant for each wheel...my initial reply to the 279.99 claim was "HOLY ****! I could buy NEW wheels for that price...are you sure that is for one or all 4?" He said it was per wheel.

Yep, just the rim polished. That is all I asked for. He went on about welding and repainting, I told him all I needed was the lip to be polished up again and clearcoated again.

Thanks man, Let me know what you find out. If I don't hear from you this week though, I will probably end up doing it myself. My neighbor has an angle grindera and I can pick up a makita buffing wheel and some soft-metal buffing compound for about 10 bucks and have this project finished in a weekend.
