Worker registration is now open for Nemadji Trail II Rally (www.rallymasterpro.com/workers). The format will be very similar to the last Nemadji Trail Rally (in May). We have taken the feedback from the last event and are making changes as we are able.

    What: Nemadji Trail II Rally
    Where: Duquette, MN
    When: Saturday, July 26
Worker Registration Opens at 9:30 a.m.
    Bannering Meeting: 10:00 a.m.
    Worker Meeting: 11:45 a.m.
Head to the Woods: 12:15 p.m.
Be back to Duquette: about 7:00 p.m.

    Register online at: www.rallymasterpro.com/workers

Duquette is 22 miles east of I-35 about 2 hours north of the twin cities metro area. We will once again have our headquarters at the Duquette General Store.

Feel free to contact me with any questions at [email protected]

As part of our permits to be able to use the forest road, we have to put "CAUTION" tape up on any trails or roads that intersect.

Bannering is done in the morning before the race starts and the group who goes out and puts up the tape, following a specially written route book.

    Hope that answers your question.

No, it only takes an hour or so to banner the road (more or less depending on how many crews), ideally the way it works is that the banner crews head out at 10 am, banner the forest, and are back in time for the worker meeting at 11:45am. Then the banner workers become marshals, and head back out to watch the cars go by (and make sure no ATV riders or anyone else head out onto the stage). The cars run by four times, and then everyone heads back in around 7pm.

If nothing major changes between now and then my wife and I will be working. No speeding tickets this time though.
Just like last time if anyone wants to camp at my parents land Fri. and Sat that is a good possibility.

I haven't heard what they have planned for me.

I wouldn't turn it down if they asked. :)

I'm hoping to have new bushings put in the DMS 40's and see how they fit the Legacy. Also have a 3" down pipe for it that I got from Mike but I need to have the back half bent up with a high flow cat. Don't know if I'll have time or $ for both before Nemadji II. But I'm sure it would be o.k. with out those improvements.

Honestly, I need more work on the loose nut behind the wheel than on the car right now.

Thats fine. I have been around the block enough times to know how everything works. Always willing to take a newb under the wing and show them the ropes.

I would let ya ride up with us, but I am taking the truck, so once I get all our crap in there the back gets pretty full. The drive really isn't that bad. Maybe 100 miles or so from the cities and only another 15-20 from Kerik. Not like Ojibwe where you could put on 500 in a day.

    I'll give you a ride:cool:

I haven't heard from Kelly about staying at my parents place for the weekend so the wife and I may make it a day trip. If that is the case you are more than welcome to ride with me. Or you can crash there for the weekend with us.

    Booze and campfire:)

You sir, would be most welcome to stay the weekend.
Give me a call or pm and we can work out the details.

I guess that means Carl will have to stay as well if he would like a ride.

As long as the booze isn't during the event, and the campfire is at an allowed location (the fire risk may be pretty high, as I haven't seen much rain in the forecast for the next couple of weeks), that sounds great!

Glad to hear it. Every once in a while we get someone who thinks it'd be a good idea to get lit while sitting out at a marshal position, and some get upset when they find it's not allowed.

I'll be driving Safety Sweep (wave to the noisy Sentra following behind the rally cars), and since I'll be driving home after the event, I'll have to limit myself to one beer at the after party.

The after party will be held at the Duquette Community Hall (just south of the Duquette General Store), where registration will also be. We are planning a meal for the rally crew. As per the usage agreement, no alcohol is allowed. Sorry guys, but enjoy the campfire at the parents'.

Thanks to all who have already signed up to work and if you haven't...please do

    See you in the woods,

Banning State park is near the junction of Hwy 23 and 35. (About 20 miles from Duquette).

Also, there is a campground just north west (I think...I may be off on my directions since 23 runs at a wierd angle) of Duquette.

Just to clarify. We will not be drinking before, during or on the drive from the event. It seems signals must have gotten crossed somewhere along the way.

Most rally after-parties have alcohol available to purchase/enjoy. Unfortunately we cannot do this at the Community hall :( trust me I am bummed about this...I would love to have a nice glass of Malibu on the Rocks after the race....mmmm....Malibu....

    back to the topic

I hope that I didn't offend anyone. I know in the past at other rallies there have been issues of workers getting lit up during the event (as Mark pointed out). We have found the best way to avoid situations like this is to be very clear up front.

Doesn't really matter to me. Even the spot that I was supposed to be in last time but was covered in 3 feet of water would be ok. Even if I have to work the start/finish again I am fine with that, I just need someone else to help out with the clocks and such. I can make any spot a good spot, and I will have my truck with my tow straps and such in case you need a extra sweep truck.
