Wallmart. Half the size of the stocker, 650cca and only $30. Other the other batteries you listed are $120+. You can buy 4 wallamrt batteries for that. The only one that is smaller and lighter than the wallmart battery is the braille, but the first time it is 20 below zero out, good luck getting your car started.

Why when i went to walmart all the batteries were $50+, $63 for the recommended one? only the lawn and garden one was "cheap"

Not sure, I have purchased 2 of them. I have even picked one up at Fleet farm for $35.

The recommended one is a full 35 series battery. But even that is cheap compared to what a lot of car places (and especially Sears) will charger for an equivalent or worse battery.

The right battery depends on the use. For most people the Walmart is the way to go though. It's what's in my WRX.

My SE-R is getting the Optima bluetop I got from Ray though. Because it's my rally vehicle I wanted the spiral wound cells to minimize the vibration damage, and the deep cycle capacity for when (probably not if) I loose an alternator and have to drives some huge distance on the reserve capacity.

i rock the Optima redtop, it does really well and deals with the rough suspension better
