Nathan (wrxboy2003) built me a custom catback for my 02 RS. He used a Magnaflow exhaust and 2.5 in piping. Here are some pics.

Sorry if the pics are crappy, they're from my cell phone.

What a difference compared to stock!!

Its got a deep tone to it. Its definitely louder when I step on it. I'm still getting used to the sound compared to stock.

Mark now has a resonator on it so the sound i spretty quiet... almost sounds stock at idle with a deeper rumble... once on it, it is a little louder.. wihtou the resonator it was a lot louder but too much for Mark...

Nathan, didn't you learn your lesson when you had your exhaust system resonator-less?

yeah but his was 2.5in with the rest of the cats on an NA RS 2.5..... personally I thought it was hot sounding.. actually to me I was strutting around telling MArk I thought it was the best one I'd done yet and sounded nicer than mine... but his car is also auto so a little mroe droney sounding in teh gear changes...

Mark loved it but realised being a little older guy and an everyday driver car that it was a little more louder than stock to put up with.. ha ha ha.. Ithink its cause he is like me.. getting old.. ha ha sorry Mark... but no I never drove it around the block that night cause it was lightly snowing and cold and I didnt want to leave the shop cause I had 4 hrs of work after his exhaust to do...

I think mostly the auto transmission made it a little different too... anyways he is happy now... I hope.. you are arent you Mark.. ah haa

I wanted a louder, deeper note, but didn't realize how different it would be compared to my stock N/A AT.
Like Nathan said.. I'm old (37) with third child on the way and live in a brand new development with tons of young(er) families. I don't want to be "the guy with the loud car"
We see how much I get used to it on my daily 50+ mile commute....

I try and record a sound clip for you guys.

well unfortunately today I removed the muffler (axle-back part) and install a stock WRX muffler in MNDUDE's car.. I was heartbroken to see it ripped apart it was a sweet looking and sounding system.. I tried to convince Mark to take the whole thing of and sell it as a cat-back for an RS owner or WRX owner looking for a 2.5 cat-back... anyways.. he will have the muffler for sale and I can adapt it to your stock exhaust or even remake the extra length into a full cat-back for anyone interested...

pm Mark (MNDUDE) for pricing on his axle-back, then whomever buys it can work out with me soem cash in hand work to install it or build the rest of the cat-back....
