Got my tire choice narrowed down to the dunlop M3 or the newest 3D which is taking the place of the old M3's. they have yet to prove themselfs and is the reason why I'm leaning towards the old M3's more. Don't tell me to get nokians, cause' I a broke ass college student and have a budget of $90 a tire and loswer. Any suggestions?

M3 is more of a 'performance' tire. Its what we sell on all the "sporty" lexus cars. Really good tire, but the 3Ds will actually have more traction on snow/ice.

Um, they're the same. The 3D is the next gen M3 like the M3 was the M2.

Agreed, I haven't really seen any info declaring one outright better than the other. I assume the 3D would be at least slightly better in most ways. Otherwise the tire wouldn't exist. There may not be a huge difference though.

They are both "performance" snow tires.... The 3D has more tread depth... also 3D is a newer rubber compound that will last longer and ride better then the M3. Also the M3 does has a stiffer sidewall, so if cornering is something you do with your snows then that may be something to think about. It is always better to get into a new technology especially with a snow tire.

I've run Wintersports on both my Legacy and STI and compared to the Nokians or Blizzaks I've found the M3's are pretty much FTL. The tread life is good but performance I've found to be very poor on both a slow car and a fast car in the snow or on the ice. Ride in someones car with Hakkas and I think you'll agree. Just my .02.

Its one choice. Michelin is a more high-end tire. Not all tires are available in all sizes.

wintersports? What brand is that, or are you talking about winterforce??

    how about the graspic ds-2??

and the winterforce, I've had these on my prelude before and they suck in the dry with the soft sidewalls, but are great in deep snow.
