Just acquired my first forester and subaru. Wondering if anyone on here from duluth has a healthy knowledge of the subaru driveline and could possibly help me with some questions I have regarding my car.

    Thanks!

I bought my forester thinking it needed a new cv axle as thats what the previous owner said it could need and for the price i was ok with that. It started out as a clicking in the front end that went away upon acceleration but was still audible while just cruising. After being on the freeway back home it turned into a high pitched whine and gets louder as I accelerate. The shifter nob also feels like its attached to a hammer drill on full speed. Is the tranny screwed? I was also wondering if there are any shops in duluth that have a clue when it comes to subaru transmissions.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome! After some thinking, I'm going to go for a Forester XT (preferrably Sports) in the near future. Just gotta find one for a good price now!
