    Hello Everyone,
I have just purchased my first new Subaru. It's a 2015 Forester and I'm glad I did. It's a great car and I've already planned a few trips up north for hunting and fishing this fall. It isn't the prettiest on the inside but it's totally functional and clean looking. I'm kind of looking forward to winter so I can see how it runs through the snow and slick roads. I do have a question though.
Last Friday I picked up a rock hit on the front of the hood that made three small chips in the paint. All the way down to the metal. I've ordered a bug shield to prevent this from happening again but I probably need to fill in the chips before they become a problem. Is there a touch up paint I can use to fill in the chips or is there a better way to handle it? I put some wax over it for now but I need a more permanent fix. Oh, where can I get the paint if that's the best way.
Thanks for your help in advance. I'm really liking my new Forester.

Welcome Beernuts! Would love to see some pictures of her when you get a chance.

Touch up paint can be had from Napa or Welle Auto Supply if you have the paint code. Should be an easy find with the Googles!

We also have a guy on here that does really good work with Clear Bra protective films for the front of the car. His name is Chris and he goes by Flawless Front Ends. You can send him a message at @chriswelckle and or @FlawlessFrontEnds&Tint if you decide to go that route for the extra protection!

Again, welcome and congrats on the new ride!

I went with Automotive Touchup and ordered various pen painters. Unless there is something special about using them I should be able to complete the repairs in good order. Thanks for the tip.

Let us know how it goes for you. I was reminded to order a bottle of the touchup for our Toyota when I saw this thread!

I am really, really, really happy I did the clear bra on my 2016 WRX. Took a big rock right on the nose the week after I got it back, and other than a nearly invisible scuff of the film it's like it never happened. Mine was done at Bravo Protection through Morrie's as part of the purchase of the car, and was done flawlessly.

I so wish our Sienna had the film, the hood is just covered with rock dings.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase!

Whats the difference between Beernuts and Deernuts? Beernuts are a $1.49 . Deer nuts are under a buck! :coffee:

If you want to try out plastidip they have a clear plastidip but I think its a matte finish. Idk if you would want to do that to help protect it and see how it goes with the plastidip. I was getting rock chips all over the hood of my car so I was like Ill try plastidip and its worked great, Ive had to touch up a couple spots where a rock hit it and took it down to the paint but since I havent had any problems with it

Where did you get your clear bra done and what was the cost?

Bravo Protection in Minnetonka near Morrie's. I don't recall how it all worked out cost wise, as I bundled it with some additional stuff and folded it into the cost of the car.
