Hey everyone! My names Matt, i'm from North Dakota. I drive an 05 Legacy GT with a couple things done to it. I have a lot of family around the Minneapolis area so I figured I would join up and maybe get in on a meet next time I'm down that way. Anyways, on to the car... when I first got it: picked up some gramlights 57c's from a member on another site i'm on: Ordered Magnaflow exhaust for it, not too loud but sounds good: also plastidipped the grille, bottom part of the bumper, hood scoop, fog light housings and installed a S204 front lip from a wrx/sti and plastidipped that: And now this last week I got my new wheels/tires put on. I have coilovers waiting to go on when I get some time or find someone that can do it. so here is how it sits now: Mods so far: Magnaflow catback exhaust Cobb catted downpipe GFB BOV AEM CAI S204 front lip 18x8.75 XXR 527s with 225/40 R18s ISC coilovers (not installed yet) 600k HID's Thats about it!
Thanks guys! the XXR's are +35..the front drives me crazy how it sits now. Should look much better after putting the coils on/messing with the camber a bit. As of now i'm keeping the Grams. Its fun to switch it up once in awhile.
bump from the dead...I havent been on here in forever. about a month after I joined here I ended up with this: 2011 OBP STi the only thing I've done to it so far is put exhaust on it, and the previous owner put an intake on. I did put the XXR's on it for awhile before the snow started flying but I ended up selling them with the LGT last month so i'm on the hunt for some new wheels for summer. If anyone has any, i'm open for some suggestions on what to get!
here's a couple. I wasn't too fond of them. I think they probably would have looked better with different tires. These ones were stretched a bit to fit the legacy so they looked a little dumb on the STi in my opinion.
They didn't look terrible...but i do think that with the proper size tires they had alot of potential!
Maybe a set of the Cosmis that Import Image is starting to carry? He is supposedly working on getting proper fitting offsets. I think that the split 5 and 6 spokes look great!
Nice to see more from ND here. Are you in Bismarck by chance? I see a car just like yours around here. Edit. Just read the beginning of the post. Williston!
nope, I'm from Williston. I did sell the LGT to a guy in Biz though! good looking out, I really like these- I havent done much checking to see how much fender rolling I might have to do for 9.5" wide wheels, but I like them! and they're cheap!
Those are definitely good looking rims! From my understanding it depends on how low your suspension is as far as the rolling is concerned. A post from Papa Ben(xluben)... "18x9.5" with 265/35R18 is the standard for "big" wheels on the 08+ STI. On stock suspension you may or may not rub. Lowered you will need a minor roll in the rear."Post #7 http://mnsubaru.com/threads/fender-rolling-services.41655/Post #10 has some good info also!
awesome! those wheels I posted are +15 offset though so from what I understand I would have to do some rolling even with stock suspension. hmm...
Well i thought that i read that they do have the right offsets, Import Image just hasn't ordered any in yet? Have you checked Cosmoss' website? Hmmm, appears to be that they only have a +15 and a +22. http://www.cosmisusa.com/ The MR7's have a +25. lol
All those wheels that Josh is selling are Hellaflush or Mexi-Poke. They're no where near proper fitment.
It's too bad too, because i think that that Forester would look amazing without the stretchy streeeetched rubber. I really do like the look of those split 5 and 6 spokes!
Do you know any Bolinskes from Williston? I believe they own a drug store/pharmacy. They be some of my family!
I know this isn't necessarily a build thread but I figured I'd throw up a couple more pictures with my new wheels/tint. They're Rota Boost 2's 18x9.5 +35. Hate if you want, but if you lived where I live, you wouldn't want to buy expensive wheels cause they'd be trashed in no time with our crappy roads haha. The gold Gramlights in the 2nd pic used to be mine, and they are on my buddy's 08 WRX now. The car is super dirty, but its impossible right now to keep it clean til the roads dry up.
Those Rota's look super awesome, You still in Williston? I'm back in good ol' Minot maybe I will make a trek out there once it is warmer out in my Sti
Haha that would mean me hauling all of my camera gear up from Minneapolis then, but I'm sure I can fit a couple toys on next flight back.
I've got a decent camera, but i'm no where near your level I'm sure haha. Let me know if you ever get out this way!
Anything works! Haha I'm always out that way but not with my car... Instead usually it's a fully loaded oil train haha
