Hi all, I'll keep it short as I don't have a Subaru just yet, but I'm looking. In the meantime I'm trying to gain as much knowledge I can by searching back through old threads. I'm hopeful to find a Forester to play around with as my new kid/dog/bike/project hauler and will put a want-ad up as well. I never realized how many parts interchange between different models and am completely sold by that.

If you happen to have or know of a black forester with a manual, let me know!

Welcome to the forum! Manual foresters are rare enough, let alone one that's for sale. I would keep your eyes peeled on Autotrader and Craigslist. Autotrader has a email notification system where they send emails every time something is posted that meets your search criteria.

I found my manual FXT in New York that way.

Good call on the e mail notification, I didn't realize they had that option. I'm not really looking for an XT, I think it's out of my budget, but I wouldn't turn one down. I put up a want ad as well.

Based on your wtb thread, you will be looking at a high mileage 1st gen forester, definitely not an XT.
