Hello all My name is Garret and I am new here (and to Subaru's). Out of the 50 some previous cars I've owned, this is only my second import car and first Subaru. I just bought this 2007 Impreza a few days ago. It's has 64,000 miles and appears to have been well taken care of. I am very happy with it so far and am here willing to learn alot about these interesting cars. Thanks for the add and be patient with me asking questions.
Welcome, new guy. Snow tires on a Subaru and you no longer give a $%#@ about winter. That would be my first purchase if the car needs no other mechanical issues dealt with. (In for parking light post.)
Congrats on the purchase and welcome! Enjoy your stay here, most people here are really helpful, even though most people on here are still eating crayons and licking aluminum siding.
Thank you, I'm liking it so far. It doesn't need much work other than rear brakes. The only annoying thing is checking the oil, I never seem to get the same reading twice. I think this car will do better then my first import, 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. What a turd and problem child car.
More of a paste eater myself. Checking the oil for antifreeze will continue until head gaskets replacement.
They always kinda caught my eye. Yes I am heavily into American cars but I've always liked them. I decided to finally pull the trigger on one and give them a try. I am very impressed on how they handle and am interested in how the engine is set up and how that design helps with handling.
Open hood. Pull dipstick. Wipe off dipstick. Lay dipstick somewhere reasonably clean and where you will find it a few hours later. Leave hood open to remind you to check oil when you return to car. Go inside, eat, sleep, play video games, masturbate, drink excessively, whatever. Return to car (the longer, the better), satiated, refreshed, owned, satisfied, hungover, etc. Locate dipstick, insert stick into engine. Remove dipstick and observe location of oil on stick. Replace dipstick. Close hood.
Welcome. Lots of useful (and useless) information here. Enjoy the car! If you're a tinkerer, you'll find the Impreza pretty simple to work on.
