So, my car is in the shop. I'm going to have them order a new hood, $580 of it is covered by insurance, anything after that I'll have to cover. But I need to get this into them ASAP since they started working on my car. These are two that I was looking at: Chargespeed Carbon Fiber Vented Hood 2002 - 2003 http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/chargespeed-carbon-fiber-vented-hood-2002-2003-p-1588.html & Cusco WRX Fiberglass GT Hood 2002 - 2003 http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/cusco-wrx-fiberglass-hood-2002-2003-p-336.html Anyone else have hood suggestions or websites that are trust worthy?
Seibon ? - http://www.seiboncarbon.com/pdut_de...Model=IMPREZA/WRX&CarMake=SUBARU&CarYear=2003 I like that Chargespeed one. Very rrrrrrracy. Kind of pricey, though. Stuart.
.what they have all said.. I looked into all sort different hoods when I got my insurance work done.. went with the stock aluminum hood.. durability, long term reliability, low maintenance...
disregarding the common opinion... fiberglass is kind of a toss up, it's easy to chip, you'd have to paint it, and isn't as light as you'd think. it also appears to come with an 02-03 wrx scoop, and the carbon with an 04-05 sti scoop... i personally prefer the smaller scoop over all else. i dealt with this same situation when i got my insurance check and ended up getting an oem style GENESIS carbon-fiber hood. it is in fact heavier than the oem aluminum but a member was selling it for cheap so i couldn't refuse. it fits perfect and have no complaints aside from the lack of under hood mounting for the air dam and padding i have seen the seibon hoods in person and i'm not a fan...
