$400 for 16gb? Sounds a little expensive to me.

Apple keeps humping the $400 personal media player. My favorite part was when I got to the multitouch Ipod thing at the bottom and saw the price tag and the "8GB and 16GB" part. 8GB and 16GB? Seriously, they are going to make the most sophisticated Ipod yet, but they are going to put the smallest HDs they offer into them. And then in a year, they will offer them with the 40 and 80GB drives and then make a press release so all the fanboys can fellate Steve Jobs for being such an innovator. I had an RCA lyra that worked great, had video and mp3 playback, and could store 20GB worth of files. It cost me 199, and I bought it over 3 years ago. The Ipod is slick, don't get me wrong, but they make it blatently obvious that they are holding back features so they can sell more later...which is sound business sense, no doubt, but it makes them look like douchebags. And makes the people that will fall all over themselves to buy a multitouch 8GB ipod look like idiots.

Yeah, I don't understand the logic with having an 8gb and 16gb ipod touch when it has a bigger screen to view video more easily... but the new nanos look pretty slick.

Depends on whether the storage is HD or flash. I wouldn't mind an ipod w/ 16gb of flash. But I already have an iPod video so I'm not buying anything else til it dies. Maybe by then I can buy a Headunit that can control other devices and not just the iPod.

How about the iPhone price drop to $399? I am sure EVERYONE is happy about that! Especially the current owners.... Nice one, Apple! :(

I made the mistake of buying one once. Not again! Disposable high dollar commodities is what they turn out to be. They should have a much better build quality than they do. Especially for the $$$$$$$$$$$$.

it looks cool, but i will never buy one. IMO the new ipod touch has womp the iphone a good one. since the itouch has wifi abilities it makes a much better portable multimedia platform and internet browser than the iphone. this is mostly true in cities where wifi signal are everywhere. but atleast with wifi you get faster internet speeds than with att.

An ipod isnt practical for me. I am sure that touch screen would be over joyed to have a bunch of anti-sieze smeared all over the screen. And I also share the mentality of WOTV. laptop > ipod.

In addition, the new iPod will likely have VOIP capabilities once someone figures it out... Bye, Bye iPhone.

What are you trying to buy? I have found that macmall is a better deal most the time than apple, even with student discounts. No sales tax ftw.
