Just thought I'd stop in and say hi.

I just picked up a 05 SWP Legacy GT.

So far i've just added some tint, HIDs, AVO filter, and a tranny cooler (that cooler should net me around 300whp or so....... totally kidding but i figure it should provide some insurance)

I bought the car to be my daily driver but found out that ever since I have purchased it I dont have the itch to drive my mustang anymore.

    Here are some pics.

Looking at some gauges, COBB AP, up/downpipe in the next few weeks :fork: Does anyone reccomend some shops around here where I can buy performance parts for this car?

Very nice car, I would take that over any post 60's mustang any day.

I was wondering how long it would take for that thing to show up here. I tried to get the wife to buy it but she couldn't take her eyes of a forester.

    Nice ride mang. ;)

Seems like a lot of people drove this before I did lol. I was actually looking for a volvo s60r but I test drove the lgt one day and loved it. Ended up taking a few weeks to get everything in order before I could buy it.

I'm hopin it turns out to be a good car. I know the 05 lgts had some probs and this one was no exception. Lookin at the car faqs it had oil changed like every 10k miles in the begginning of its life. Turbo went and got replaced.... then motor went out..... so they replaced the turbo and the motor. I called the dealer that did all the work and found out the motor in the car only has 2k miles on it. Time to keep up with all the maint and hopefully this one will have a nice long life :)

Can't wait to meet up with some of you guys. Could use an extra hand or two to get the front lip I ordered installed. Think it will need a heat gun and some molding.

I owned a 04 S60R when they first came out...terrific car, dang near cost prohibitive to mod. which for me is alot of the fun of ownership. Now I am a fellow LGT owner.

Clean LGT's don't go unnoticed around these parts. ;)

Maybe I'll see you around. I have a black '10 LGT down in Apple Valley. You should hit up the LaX cruise with us!

Ah jeez that sucks. What kind of problems are you running into?

I wanted silver/grey but the white grew on me really quick.

**Edit** never mind I just read thru your thread... so how has the car been since the new turbo??

Bought it, one hour into driving it home blown turbo. Replaced turbo at Subaru dealer, the dealer I bought from paid for it, one week into driving blown turbo again. Subaru investigate said, lack of oil to turbo. Then after more investigation they found metal shavings in oil pan and taking engine apart I'll need a new shortblock, cams, heads, valves..etc, $6k in parts. All parts were deteriorating, because who ever owned before didn't take a good care of the car. Hopefully this doesn't scare you. Just take good care of your car and do your oil change.

Yup my motor/turbo has 2k miles on it. Time to treat it right and keep up with the OCI. Which reminds me that I need to change that this week. That "should" put me around 2k on this oil but since I just bought it and can't confrm the last change I wanna be safe.

I have a warranty on the car also so I guess that means I gotta have a dealer/shop do it for me.

Nice pickup. Can you give me a little more info on the hid's? I've been toying with getting some. Although I'm getting layed off in a few weeks. so it's more of a down the road thing.

I went with the DDM Tuning hids because 1) they are inexpensive and 2) my friend has installed 2 sets into 2 dfferent cars with zero problems.

The install was amazingly easy and you can barely tell it has hids while looking under the hood.

Can I ask what dealer you bought the car from? St. Cloud Subaru? I drove a LOT of LGTs over the past 6 weeks, and the only silver one was in St. Cloud. Just curious. It's great they're taking care of you.

welcome again! love the white would, have loved to get white! but my blue leggy does satisfy! :) Nolimit is right, the blown turbo's are COMMON on the leggys. hell i bought mine with a blown turbo and made the dealership replace it :) just keep the oil up to date and if you can take out your banjo bolt filter, but be careful i just cracked my TPS sensor trying to get my filter out :( but was hooked up from RS motors with a new one! hope to see you around the area and hope to hear some more subie rumbles around here! also ImportImageRacing.com has some nice deals and offer up a discount if you mention you're a member

Yeah, I bought it down in New Ulm from Jensen Motors. One of the worst purchase I ever made and this is my first subaru too :(. A long story, but getting the car fix hopefully done by next week. Will probably post pictures when its fix. Jensen Motors posted the Legacy Gt on KBB, not sure why they didn't post it on Carsoup or Craigslist o well.

Before I bought this one, I was going to buy one in Ames, Iowa, but he decided not to sell it, because he didn't get the price he was asking for. Also a SWP, but wasn't leather though.

Well.............. totaled the LGT out a couple years back and have been sporting another make/model car so I haven't really visited here that often. SO this kind of a new member part 2 post for me. Just put in my order for a 2016 STi that I should be taking delivery of this July/August!!

Unsure what my profile says but I'm in Apple Valley now.

oh and whos the go to tuner for around this area? gonna get access port but hear pro tunes are always better.

MAP and NF are the two that keep popping up as recommendations on here. Lot more info on legacygt.com for problems/corrections/mods for those models. Gratz with purchase! I'm looking for one of those or a rex wagon as well. From all I've read, oil starvation is a big killer of those engines, banjo bolt filters are usually the culprit. I used to shop on FastWRX for mods, but they pretty much said FU to any WRX pre-09, and pre-05 leggys.

Welcome back! I think this guy ^ missed what car you're buying. I personally use NF performance for all of my tuning needs. The other option out there is RS motors which is closer to apple valley. There are a few other places to get tuned, but NF and RS are the two best choices imho.

They offer a hell of a deal to iwsti forum members. Couldn't pass it up. Even with them shipping it to me I will be saving money. But in all honesty I plan on picking it up there and hitting up the fun mountain roads before bringing it back home.

I'm having it shipped. First new car and don't want the first 1000 miles to be all highway. Know there is plenty of debate on proper engine break-in.

Been looking around to see if anyone does opticoat in the area.

Yeah I was gonna ship it but I decided not to miss this chance driving it on mountain passes. If all goes well ill prob have plenty of miles on it before I start my trek home.

I read a lot about the break in. I'm definitely in the group of not babying it.

Check out raskys detailing. I think he offer cquartz finest.

Yeah that should do the trick. I wasn't so worried about beating hard on it, actually the exact opposite. It would of been a lot of miles at the same rpm.

Will have to take a look at them, you having Heuberger do tint and clear bra?

I havent talk to January about the tint and clear bra but I'm planning on having http://eas.tc/ in CO do the tint and the "colorado package" for the clear bra done. When i get it to MN ill throw on some cquartz and most likely get a remote start installed.

FYI that auto place is the Heuberger goes to get their cars done up with grafix and what not.

P.S. i gotta get to a meet so i can talk to some of you guys and get the optometrist with the tint rx.

Have plenty of time to weight my options. Want to do tint and clear bra for sure. Don't know about the cquartz yet. Who makes the remote start unit your having installed?
