Hello all, Here's a bit of background on me (sorry for the long post, scroll for pics and CLIFFS): -Used to be a member on here years go (old sn: wantswrx!) when I grew up down in Red Wing - and as you can tell I didn't have a subie then. -Went to school in Illinois and lived in Chicago for a year after I graduated from college - I also bought my Saabaru when I graduated. -Just recently moved back up here to Eden Prairie and looking to join the strong subie community up here -Also looking to go to Autox and track events I am on NASIOC (wrxsomeday) however there aren't too many MN guys on there...figured you all pretty much hang out here. I'm going to miss having DS1 Motorsports and P and L real close to me in Chicago, but I like to do most of my work myself. -That being said, I'm willing to help anyone out with installs/repairs. I don't have a ton of knowledge, but I've got most tools and I've worked on exhausts, suspension, wiring radios and other simple stuff. -I also wouldn't mind getting some help with my own stuff in the future...(*cough cough* probably going to need a new clutch soon). I'll definitely provide beer and/or $$ if necessary... Quick stuff about my car: -Full tbe -AP Stage 2 -lowering springs, strut bars -other various parts I should be able to go to the meet tomorrow at Lake Calhoun tomorrow and hopefully meet some of the guys. Here are some quick picks of my 05 Saab 92x Aero: (no longer have the HKS pictured below - loved the sounds, hated the look. Currently have the Greddy Evo) Pics below are from a test and tune at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan CLIFFS: -old lurker on the board (before owning my saabaru) -moved back to Minnesota recently from Illinois -hope to see some of you at the Lake Calhoun meets!
This is not MnSAABaru Welcome to the party. Lots of good info to be found on the site. I'd be excited to see this thing at a dyno day some time. I have a soft spot for the saabaru, heart of a Sube and the refinement of Sabb. Enjoy your stay.
^^thanks. I really need a dyno tune (just running the cobb OTS map currently). I'm probably going to wait until I add some more mods tho...like bigger turbo and surprisingly, the saabaru's are mostly subaru. I do like the saab styling though
Nice looking Saabaru. A custom tune would certainly wake that thing up, although so would a VF39, STI injectors, and a 3-port BCS . Enjoy the car!
Thanks. I actually already have a Prodrive ebcs, which a guy gave to me for free when I bought his short shifter...who knows if it functions, but that's a start. Might end up going with a manual bc anyway. As far as the turbo...I'm thinking more like a HT68 with an EWG setup :-D but we'll see when I get there. I've got lots to do with this thing. TMF...Tall Mother F***er - old college nickname - I guess I am 6' 6"
oh nice, good to see someone else in the EP. what does yours look like? I've seen a few already... but you probably wont see me much in my saabaru since its no longer my daily. More likely that you'll see me my my sandy colored fusion lol
