Hello everyone, My name is Nathan and I currently drive a slightly modified 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege :ugh:. I have been researching and looking into buying a WRX or WRX STI in the near future with a goal to get my rally license at some point. welcome to the forum! getting your rally license is easy, call in and pay for it. actually doing it is a different story (especially if you want to use a wrx - you can't run a wrx as a novice or even provisional license holder with the turbo, you'd need to convert it to open light specs).
yea if you have any rally specific questions let me know - i've gone down the path of converting an sti to open light and then to open class. My team also fields a second car, 858, which has also gone through the de-turbo process to conform to open light. I actually do not recommend doing it this way after experiencing it twice.
Welcome. I come from the MSP too. Had mine for 6 years and loved it, but couldn't stop from jumping to the WRX. I got an 02 in Sept of last year and am loving it! On the drive home from Chicago (after I bought the car) I completely forgot about my MSP. Good luck!
Welcome to the site! I agree 100% with Carl, buy a WRX and buy a open light car to race, don't swap it! So are you going to come up to Nemadji Trails 2 next weekend?
