So here's a set of freshly painted 4 pots. I used an angle grinder with a wire brush that I had the bare metal so shiny I could see my reflection. I used the duplicolor caliper paint.

The Subaru lettering is raised, and I am considering painting it black. I've got a bottle of touch up paint with a little brush. Do you guys think I should do it? or will it easily run and look messy?

Take and spray something then take the caliper and press it on whatever you painted since you letters are raised you should be all good.

If you use black caliper paint you wont have to worry about it fading or falling off do to heat vs non caliper paint.

Is there a clear coat that's good for sealing those up too, or no need to?

Did your newer calipers have the raised lettering or was it flat?

I know it would be time consuming. But an exacto knife and masking tape would be the route I would take. Black on the subaru and the lines.

that's a damn good idea. before i painted them, i experimented with masking off the lettering, then sanding off the masking tape over the raised areas. it seemed to work pretty good.

Just remember to run the exacto knife lightly around the edges after you paint too.

The newer style is flat. The logo is painted on originally.

The lettering isn't perfect up close, but it looks perfect behind the wheel. I just used a brush and carefully dabbed on the raised lettering. I painted the rear calipers the same color.
