we have now upgraded to a new ppg that restores like nothing i've seen!!! thought I Would share one of the experiments.. one of the lids got a light coat of black and some of the new clear that were using. Took 350grit sandpaper to break down the clear to almost the plastic. added a bit of liquid polish.... and you can see for yourself what a simple buff would do to restore gloss... ((this would be an extreme case) Very much happy with the results same lid playing with pearls tonight and HOK came out with a new version of candy apple red... which I can't help but share... cuz it's deep as all hell! this update is important because this clear will be going on EVERYTHING I will be painting from here out. this hoodscoop is getting the free upgrade as well
I like that red. Intersting how that clear came back from 350 dry. I've brought 800 dry back with an aggressive compound before, but damn. I'd need to see it in person to really see the sanding marks, or lack thereof. When I paint my car this summer, she'll get twice as much clear as normal. It's gonna get a show shine from the get go, and I want headroom for future sanding and buffing. I don't know what clear we'll be using though.
That a boy. That's what I like to hear. Ill be callin you around lunch to see when I can pick up the hood scoop
2nd pic has chunks of crap in it lol, wasn't meant to look pretty. It's a throw away helmet for torture testing. There are a few other helmets that will actually get a showroom shine. The red is hok new candy apple red. Should be out very soon, I would highly recomend waiting for this new formula. Once cleared it comes out extreamly deep looking.
