Intallation question...Does this one require removing the intake manifold?

 

heck no! bolts on sti's without touching the manifold...we've done them already

 

what about the 2.0L?

 

2.0's are easier to install on

regardless of 02-07 wrx and 04-07 sti..bolts on, without taking the intake manifold off.

is the install super easy?
No, they never are

is this one much easier then a solid inlet tube? YES

question to all... if im running Stage 2 will it be safe to throw one on without getting a better tune? also with something like this... would it work out with a 16/18g or would it be more benificial to go with a 3".

 

we have them on stage 2 sti's no problem...same car made 320whp and 330tq when protuned.

you won't need a 3inch for just a 16/18g...

heck we have one on a customers element gt52...407whp...and its fine

we have the most Hoes! or is that hose!? anyway radiator hoses for well under 100 coming in december...also gt spec cloned headers...for $100 less

 

thats fine with me, blast away, im really honest. whether you buy an inlet expecting the world, or nothing, fact is it will take the ribs out which is better for air flow. i wouldnt PWN me for selling this stuff, think about it...perrin is retail $230, a great price is 209 shipped.
these are the same thing, and are $135 shipped for mn subaru guys....hmmm who is really the crook?

Here are two pics of the Inlet and Post MAF Tube installed on my WRX. Took roughly an hour, and there were some swear words with the factory bypass valve clamp.

New inlet fit nicely, I just had to trim the MAF tube a tad to get it to fit right with my Cobb Intake.

 

yes we've noticed some intakes had to have the maf tube slightly trimmed...because of the gigantic cobb filter in this case.... glad to see its working out nicely. yes...always swear words when doing any sort of turbo inlet install...no matter who you are. notice any gains?

 

I just put it in, and haven't even left work yet, so not yet. I wouldn't really expect to see much without having it tuned either. Just the piece of mind to know that the black hard plastic piece of mess, isn't feeding my turbo anymore.

 

haha thats funny. i'd expect to feel a little gain, more when tuned. much better flow.

 

My butt dyno doesn't work very well. My motorcycle makes my car feel so slow anyway!

 

i have that problem when i drive my sti with 500hp...then drive my stock legacy gt lol

 

It will be interesting to see if I get full boost sooner though.

Boost seems to come on full a little faster. Turbo spool sound is louder for sure.

I think it was worth it. Now I just need to get a further revision on my map, and we'll see how she goes.
