Why Hard Anodizing you ask? Well, we simply want to make a better product and when a little added production cost can produce a pulley that is not only a lot lighter than the stock one, but also 30% harder than stainless steel. Then we just had to do it. Also, Hard anodized aluminum will not fade, discolor or chip. Why Hard Anodized?

Well, although it may have made the pulley a few bucks more, i felt it was worth the money.

Cheap standard anodized coatings can fade and loose their color over time. Plus, these do not withstand heat and any type of oily substance. If you drop oil on it you can see the spot forever basically. I know this because I had this problem with my first go around on pullies. Then there are plating options. Frankly, plating is the cheapest way to get around adding corrosion resistance to a part. Thickness of the coating is determined usually by putting parts in a bucket, dipping in a liquid and then spinning them around to remove excess. Cheap ,functional and great way to make profits but not the way to deliver the best quality. Especially for such a crucial piece of the engine.

A hard anodized finish is chemically stable. It does not decompose. It is nontoxic. High heat levels will not damage the hard anodized finish. Anodized surfaces are heat-resistant to the melting point of aluminum (1,221°F). Also, the hard anodizing is completely non stick and is virtually scratch resistant. Something Standard anodizing and Plating cannot claim. Also, keep in mind that a hard anodized piece of aluminum will be 30% stronger and harder than the equivalent non-anodized part.

Do you have one that will only drive the PS and alternator? I don't have AC, so why bother with the extra width?
