After almost 10 months of driving my Stage 3 SRT-4, it was time to get back into a Subaru.

I went down with CTracey218 and another friend on Monday night and we picked this up from Tico (awesome guy by the way). It's everything he said it would be. With the condition of the car I'm convinced he never actually drove it.

I ordered a catless downpipe (and flange) which I'm bolting to the stock catback. Then Nuke is going to tune it and I'm leaving it at that.

Exterior wise, I'm just doing 4500K HIDs, eBay polyurethane front lip, Cobb lowering springs and a roof rail delete (or a real roof rack... kind of opposites but I like both looks). I also ordered a black Cobb shift knob.

It's good to be back and finally have some confidence in my winter driving! I can't believe I waited this long to get a wagon...

Other than the ricer tail lights (yea I know they are stock) I approve. You always seem to find the cleanest Subies!

Yeah I can definitely appreciate a good lookin' rack. Plus, there's something about a slammed wagon with a roof rack that makes me happy :)

Thanks for the comments guys. Yup, it's got 48k miles on it. I'm definitely not a fan of the tails deride but I think grey is the only color they don't look super ricey on haha.

+1 for Tico! Real straight forward guy who keeps a very clean and well document ride.

    Psh. Wagons.

    ;)

Enjoy your new ride, that's a great looking wagon! It took me a while to come around on the wagons, but when I bought my first WRX it was a wagon and every one of them since has been one. You'll enjoy that one, I looked around for a decent 2006-2007 wagon last time I was in the market but decided on a 2011. I still miss the GD wagons though.

Thanks guys. I really love it so far, I'm so much happier in this than my 2 LGTs I've had in the past.

Today I installed a Yakima roof rack. I also have the bike mount which I'll put on tonight:

The rest of the goodies I ordered for it should be here next week!

I'm just curious, why do you like the impreza more than the legacy. I've been planning on a
05-08 LGT as my next car for quite a while.

Subaru made a really nice looking interior on the LGT, but one of the principle issues with it (IMO) is that all of the interior plastics are too soft and too prone to scrapes/nicks/etc. After time, the interiors in those cars look absolutely terrible. That, coupled with the turbo issues, always made me kind of scared to get into boost in mine (though it certainly didn't stop me, lol). Plus, the aftermarket for them is very niche and finding decent looking exhaust (and other things) is tough for someone on a budget.

I like being able to get into my WRX without feeling like I'm going to rip/tear/scratch anything and we all know how tried and true the EJ25/TD04 combo has been.

The utility that the wagon offers is also awesome though I obviously understand they made LGT wagons as well.

cost point... We traded a 08 2.5 impreza NA for and 08 LGTLimited and insureance dropped $106 per month... how much did it go up for you... from the LGT to the SRT-4?

$0. Car insurance is the only thing I don't pay for. I'm covered under my dads' blanket policy.

^indeed it is. It's something I'm very thankful for and quite frankly allows me to be able to afford my cars.

I got my 3" CNT catless downpipe from MAP Performance today. It's actually a pretty nice part for $170.

I'm going to be running the stock catback. Nuke is gunna get his tunez on with it.

Sounds like I'm still aiming for an LGT then, cause the way I treat cars a few interior scratches aren going to bother me, and I'm already planning on a built motor since I usually just buy shells and build what I want. Interesting take on things tho, thanks for the feedback.

That is a nice DP. Love the wrx wagon as well.

On the insurance note, My wife's and I, our policy went up $260 a year with progressive. Searched and found that AAA was $460 cheaper a year...... S#%T is crazy!

Nice ride man... I have the same car in a sedan. I still like the sedan's look better (in our year) but I wish it was a wagon...next one. I agree with your previous comment on the tail lights, for some reason they don't look as gaudy on steel metalic gray ;) Enjoy !

Yeah I was looking at them last night and honestly I don't think I'll change them. I really LOVE sedan fenders, though... it just sucks the bumper has to get replaced as well.

Put 4500k, 55w HIDs in last night from DDM Tuning. They're not blue like the pictures suggests (pure white actually) and they don't glare like that... I had to turn shutter priority down due to the low light.

Nice, yea the fenders are sharper. I didn't realize you'd have to replace the bumper for the fenders. Is that something you're going to do? I likes your lights and rack ;). Did u install the dpipe yet? Nuke tuned my car as well, he's awesome.
