Just got this in the mail this morning, thought I'd share it. I'm a responsible driver, and I'm glad there doing this even though it affects me because I know some pretty crazy kids who don't deserve their license.
There was a passenger limitation in MA when I got my drivers license. You couldn't have anyone in the car -at all- for your first year driving, unless it was a family member or "guardian" That was just fine with me, I don't always like having passengers anyway, too much to pay attention to
Same - plus they weight down my car and the MPG goes down. And with an incredible 110hp it takes forever for my car to get up to speed.
That passenger law is great. Teens/young drives are typically poor at paying attention to the road with multiple passengers. Good stuff.
I'm sure I could search for this, but I'm just gonna be a lazy ass. Is there a law against teen drivers talking on their cell phone while driving? I'm assuming so.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let the punishment for said crime be that the adult driver that catches them gets to run them off the road, back up to them, get out and beat them with their cell phone.
The passenger law is a double endged sword. Will make it harder to have designated drivers. I know that 16-17 year old's don't tend to designate a driver anyhow, but it would be nice not to ban that option.
