Hello, MNSubarusians! Just picked up a new baby Tuesday (ordered at the end of March and it came in early as it was scheduled for next week). I traded up from a black '05 Toyota Matrix, so the RLG WRX Lim 6MT (Kicker speakers, red LED footwell, and the homelink enabled rearview mirror) is one massive upgrade. This will serve as my daily driver and with the upgrade that it is for me, I don't envision major performance mods any time soon. I'll be hitting a few aesthetics maybe, specifically tint, hitch for a bike rack is likely, and LED interior lights. I'm considering also swapping in Grillcraft grills. Eventually I'll need to swap in winter tires and will be looking into putting those on the stock wheels and moving the summer tires to new ones (TBD). It's been a while since I've driven a manual regularly, so I'm a little rusty, but not too bad in my opinion. My beast is attached. You can see the Matrix in the background looking sad at the outcome of the trip. Sorry to any out there who saw it on the Walser website as it was spoken for long before they posted it as arriving soon.
Welcome to the Twin Cities and MNsubaru! Where were you from originally? Nice looking ride. Hope to see you at some of the meets posted in the events section. Cheers and congrats on your purchase.
fixed! Once your hooked you're in it for the long ride. As the say in the Matrix, it is inevitable. Just playing welcome to the Subaru community.
Welcome, red is sexy indeed on the 15. My wife saw a red one that was in for service at Morries the other day and she loved it. She is actually entertaining the idea of ordering one with CVT, but she has a year left on her Jetta lease and for 2016 it's a different red. Anyways welcome and bring that bad boy to one of the meets so she can see it and I can keep that fire going
I always said I would never get a red car, but the red WRX and STi are sexy, plain and simple. Hopefully Walser didn't bend you too far over. They were planning on giving me a thorough fisting. I don't envision myself ever stepping foot back there after the rockstar treatment I got at Morries Minnetonka. Glad to see you around. Myself needs to get to some of the meets as well. Now that I know where Stouts is, lol.
I grew up in Chaska, lived in North Minneapolis for over 10 yrs, and now I'm in Golden Valley. I felt good with it. With ordering, it was essentially a simple adjustment over invoice. Morries would have been more convenient for me, but even their "best internet price" was more for a premium trim than my limited with Kicker upgrade. I've got 1 1/2 weeks in and loving this car! I'm considering the LaCrosse event. Other events are likely to be more unlikely, but maybe I can get to one at least once. We'll see.
Well, I apparently won't have plates for a while, so if you see the red drive by with a white temp license sheet in the window instead of the yellow from the dealership... That is likely me. I'm not sure why they are so delayed. I did request collegiate plates, but those shouldn't be so special that they are delayed until July.
LOL. I saw you picking this up! I was thinking of picking a 2015 up and wanted to see one in person before I got serious about it. And then the car that was listed was getting handed off as I arrived. The 2015s were getting very, very thin on the ground by then, not surprised you didn't have a lot of options.
You saw me? Ha. I had placed the order for it around the end of March and it came in on May 5th. So, selection wasn't an issue and I was able to get exactly what I wanted without any unnecessary packages. It definitely is the way to go for the WRXs and STIs as they sell often before they are delivered and orders show up on their website even though they are spoken for and they won't let anyone touch them. I even had to test drive a CVT to ensure I "fit" in it comfortably as the manual was sold off in the 15 min it took me to drive over there.
Don't know that I saw *you*, but I saw that exact car, parked in that exact spot, with a sales-looking dude going over the car with somebody. The car left as I was trying to find a frickin' parking spot; since they have so little I had to park like two blocks away. Hope your salesperson had more of a clue than the people I talked to there.
The sales guy certainly did. He was great and is a WRX/STI owner himself...Brian Samuels. Unfortunately the timing won't work out for me to make it. Maybe next time.
