Hey I'm new to the world of Subaru. At the begining of August I purchaced a 05 Subaru Outback XT with a 5eat, and I must say even though its stock Boost is addicting. The down side is it will be primarly my wifes car and wont see any mods.

My self I drive a 99 SVT Contour with 3L swap, and a few other goodies. But I can see my next car being something like a Legacy GT (would love to find a spec b) but that will have to wait to pay off the xt. Any way here is my DD

Look foward to sticking around, and learning all I can :)

Don't let the fact that its the "wifes car" discourage you from modding. We drove our 03 WRX home well over 8 years ago with the plan being its going to be her car. Well it has been, but truthfully she truly has enjoyed the many cosmetic, braking, handling, and engine and tranny mods I have done to it. On another note, I have always liked how those SVT Contours looked and performed, but have heard they have reliability or driveability issues. Yes? No? thanks and welcome!

Well it will be some time before mods are given, I would like to pay it off first. There may be some drive ability add on in the future, I have noticed that the rear seams really floaty.

As for the SVT its one of those cars where you treat it right, normal upkeep and don't beat on it constantly. And it wont give you any problems. My cars driveability is a little harsh, but my suspension is really stiff. The only other issue is solved by using 6qts of oil (oil starvation issues). Will say the 3L swap is a blast to drive, and will hopefully have a final tune done soon, hoping to hit 230 at the wheels. :)

Welcome. I too have always loves SVT contours. I also have been an owner of (many) Taurus SHOs. I sold my last one (quaifed, coilovers, cobra brakes, etc) for my current 02 WRX wagon. Best move I ever made. Although, someday I plan to own another SHO. Hopefully a 91+.
