    Hello,
Looking at getting a Subaru wrx when I come back home looking to spend 10k to 14k initially. Looking for lower miles most likely doing some stuff to it later on. Started looking on craigslist haven't looked anywhere else. Found a 05 wrx rebuilt 5k on engine 68k on body 13500. If you have any suggestions would appreicate. Thanks

Just started considering getting a STI, curious how much difference or if performance difference is worth the price.

Welcome to MnSubaru Levi! There is a few notable differences between the two. Honestly, you can get about as much power out of the WRX if you do it right. Are you looking for a specific year, color, mileage, etc?

Dont be a fool like me. Buy an STI. Do yourself a favor. (unless its 06 or newer, 2.5L) 2.0=no torque ;)

Not sure but looking for between 2002-2008. What year would you recommend? Something for a decent price. If i can find a decent STI somewhere i will probably go with that. Seems like there isn't too many around though. Is there any good websites for used vehicles besides using craigslist. IM willing to throw down up to 16k on it. But would like something with under 50k miles also. Thanks

Well it'll be tough to find an STi, it'll be real tough to find one with under 50,000 miles for that price unless it's wrecked or has engine damage. If you want a beautiful STi with low mileage... http://mnsubaru.com/threads/fs-2004-silver-sti.38870/ <That is about as close as you'll ever get to match all of your criteria.

The biggest problem you are going to have is finding one with that low of mileage unless you up your top dollar. My 02 WRX with 204,000 miles on it was valued at $8,400 by the insurance company. You need to start thinking about something like this.... http://mnsubaru.com/threads/fs-2011-sti-30-500-obo.38394/ ...if you want low mileage, but as you can see, that's above your budget by just a few dollars.:)

Also, avoid any cars on Craigslist being sold by a David lavalle. He sells salvaged title cars that he "fixes" and pretends they are good.

Thanks for the advice tangled, and for telling me about that dude readymix. What's up nate. I guess i wouldn't mind upping my price for some i know will last even if i have to swap some stuff on it. I could always do a engine swap down the road too. I might check out that first one you posted for 20k if its still for sale. Any year specific i should shoot for too?

Also i want to have it as a everyday driver, don't think IM going to far do you? I thought i would buy something nice since I've never owned a nice car. I also like to drive fast. Don't plan on racing i guess if the opportunity arrises though.

    No specific year really.

If you want a clean daily driver, you should look at the first one that i posted the link for. This one.

Tell me what you guys think it's 130,000 on the body. Been done in a shop certified mechanic they've tune over 500 subarus. Also built 2 other subarus, STI engine 48000 like it says.... with all receipts nothing wrong with it.

I just think you can get more for your money. The inside interior looks pretty beat up and not maintained very well. The door pannels, the carpet. hell it prob was smoked in it.
