Just thought I'd introduce myself... my name is Porter and I currently live in Chaska. Last summer I picked up a 2002 Outback Limited wagon... nothing special. Would have like to get a WRX but didn't have the cash for that. So far I have been happy with the car.... already put 30k on it since buying it. Absolutely love driving it in the snow! From what I have found, there isn't too much I can do to this model in regards to performance so I plan to leave it 'stock'. There is only one issue that I am dealing with right now that is part of the reason I joined the forums. The problem is the current loss of 4th gear. My gearbox has gotten sloppy and the car will pop out of 4th. I am guessing I broke something in the transmission but I don't really have the knowledge to know what is going on with it. I'm currently looking to either throw in a used transmission or possibly crack the current one open to have it rebuilt. At the moment it is still driveable.. I just skip from 3rd to 5th on the highway. I don't own another car and don't really have the cash to get it fixed at the moment so it works for now. I haven't decided if I want to tackle the repairs on my own or just pay to have it done. Any input would be greatly appreciated! In regards to the forums... I've been told this a great place to get information due to all the individuals on here with good Subaru knowledge! Thanks for allowing me into the forums!
Welcome! There's a lot of good info/people here. I'm sure some one can point you in the right direction.
