Thinking about getting a 92 SVX for a good daily driver and winter car. The 1991 z-28 i have just eats up too much gas to be a daily driver. I've been doing my homework and am aware of the probs with the rotors, hub bears and transmissions, but was wondering if there is anything else besides the lack of performance parts for this car out there i should be awar of?

    Nice looking Camaro

I have a couple odd ball Subaru's and a 81 El Camino. Road out front of my house is all hard packed snow, bring it on. I will mark out 60' for ya and give ya a head start. :)

I own a 92 SVX and just did a tranny. They are nice driving cars, gas mileage is 22mpg. Some of the parts are harder to come by these days but there seem to be a few in the junk yards around here. Couple of us have been toying with selling ours so there are a few for sale, just depends on what you want to spend.

Welcome to the group either way. :)

far from it, they are amazing cars dont get me wrong, but it all depends on what your want and needs are, at this time in MY life the SVX just isnt suiting to my wants, needs and ideas. i know for a fact i will own another even after i sell mine

do these cars have any specific year that made more power or held up longer or is it just like every other car out there where the newer the better the model of car? Also, anything you would reccomend to do for a newbie to subies?

meh, not really. 92's have no speed limiter, lol. um, if your looking to mod it the 96/97 is a bad choice caus the ODBII cars cant run the ECUtune ecu's

    Well

I dont know if you made it out here yet but you can check this site out too: http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/ Another great bunch of helpful people.

Only reason I had my SVX up for sale is I have 3xt's, ones a parts car. A El Camino and the SVX plus my Harley. Just me in the house so it's kinda hard to drive all of them so I have listed the SVX a couple times. After having the trans replaced and adding the cooler it has made it a fun car to drive again.
Oh an as you can see I still have it so I haven't been trying hard to sell it.

I'd love to upgrade to a WRX but thats just not going to happen for awhile. I'm chomping at the bit for a new Road Glide but have to wait for the child support to end first. When you think about it my everyday car is 21yrs old and I still put 110 miles a day round trip on it. The XT just keeps going. :)

    Im offically hooked!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

lol i test drove the hell out of that car and it handles great its got good low end torque and the awd is very nice! i love the "cockpit" feel you have when you sit in this car! the only thing that converned me was the stuck sunroof, squeaky/grinding breaks, and the fact that it had been in an accident. I mean i looked at this car top to bottom. No signs of it being in a bad accident. so im guessiong it was a minor fender bender that cracked or had totaled the rear bumper of this car. but its all immaculate for the 117,450 miles thats on it. AND WOW! the stock stero system is AWSOME! I found my mistress to my camaro!

now only if the loan goes though... lol

i found the hard way taht the sunroof stuck is a tab on the rails, due to some jackass putting a rock in mine i had to bend it back and it works flawless now
