In 2003, I had a 01 forester that I bought at auction. I knew nothing about Subarus then. I ended up trading it in a year later to get a Jetta TDI for better feul economy. I always remembered how amazingly well it drove in the MN winters. In 2011, my wife was looking to get a different car. She was driving a 2 door Honda civic at the time. One of her main priorities was something that handles snow and icy roads well. (she's spun out a few times in the past with other cars). I immediately said that we should get a Subaru, and thats what we got. a 2009 Subaru forester. It's now got 90,000 miles on it and we hope to run it well past 200k. I've read several threads in the past, but I finally decided to join the forum to gain more knowledge about these vehicles in order to do some of the maintenance myself and know where to take it when its outside of my experience. So, with that.... Hello.
Well, hello there...and welcome! What plans do you have for the Fozzie? Wheels? Suspension? Motor? Rally Armor Flaps (purely for horsepower reasons of course) Maintenance is not hard on these cars. Believe me, if I can do it...
Welcome Aaron! Pics of the Forester if you have em!? We definitely have some awesome vendors here!! From parts dealers to mechanics that can help with any and all overhauls. Also for tuning...in case you get to pick up a little something for yourself in the future! -Josh
Thanks everybody. No major plans other than keeping it running well. Perhaps adding a hitch and a roof rack at some point. I don't have any pics as of now. It's pretty plain jain, but I'll snap some sometime soon. I really should do this.
