I got my Silver '05 RS about a month ago and just found the forums a few days ago. Just figured i would stop and say hi. I am familiar with the Subaru family. My brother owns an '99 RS and my dad has an '05 Forester XT, and the girlfriend has an '08 2.5i

I do have one question, My Sti spoiler has the built in brake light, but whoever owned it, just decided not to hook it up. My question is if there is a cable that i can order (hopefully cheap) that goes from the stock 3rd to the new one in the spoiler, or is it something that i will have to fabricate? the spoiler blocks out most of the stock 3rd, so its probably not too safe to have it the way it is currently

    Thanks

    Welcome!

You get that from Morries Minnetonka?

There should be a cable that is already there. Mine comes up the right side arm of the trunk, then the wires that come off the STi wing clip into that.

There should be a wire with a male female connector one that is comming from the wing and one that is connected to the trunk arm on the right side (passanger side). You should be able to just connect them and it will work.

i did get it from morries, i havent seen any cables in the trunk, i will have to check again during the day. Would i be correct in assuming that it is hidden behind the plastic panel on the right side? and also is it normal to only have about "6 for the connector from the wing on the trunklid?

when rexarew and i got her sti wing we had to order the wire extension to go from the window brake light to the new spot wich does follow down the arm of the trunk to connect to the new brake light in the spoiler..maybe you need to simply order it..if so morries will be your best bet.
