Just got home with the new computer. I picked up a MSI Wind U100. So far it
has been great. Takes a bit to get used to the smaller keyboard but not too bad. Seems to be plenty fast for what I'll be using it for. Now to get everything moved from the old laptop.

This thing will be sweet when traveling and for work. I'll have a place to dump pics from the camera while on trips and a much smaller piece of hardware for logging and tuning.

    Anyone else have a "netbook"?

I tried out the Asus 1000hd and it just seemed really cheaply made. I felt like I would break it in a week.

Ahh, I'm jealous. I want an MSI Wind. Best one I've seen of the netbooks.

I've been playing with it for the last 2 hours and the battery is going strong. It seems the current models get the 6 cell battery that extends run time a lot.
As long as I have a nice rig at home I can't see a reason to have anything more than this for a laptop.

I have the Asus Aspire One. It's only two pounds and has 120gb hard drive. It also came with 1gb of memory and Windows XP. Not bad for $350.

I used it to store all my picture when we went to Australia/New Zealand. I also used it to make VOIP calls while I was gone.

Yeah, these are nice little units. I've always been a proponent of small laptops, because really, mobility is what a laptop is for!

I've had my eye on a mini netbook for a while now, although I really think I'm going to wait until the dual core Atom processors are released into the wild.
