I don't know if the K03 would be able to flow enough air, the cbr sucks quite a bit of air through the ram air tubes, here is the turbo kit that is supposed to be on a cbr

    http://www.shandyturbos.com/cbr954rr.html

it is a Garrett GT 20......curly how does that compare to the K03??

My buddy at work had the 180 hp ko3 sport turbo in his jetta. It was actully quick. Now he has the K04 and is just waiting to get his Revo tunned. I would say with the mods he has he should be able to put down about 220 to the wheels.

i call shens on that, i laugh so hard when they talk about an "upgrade" turbo in the VW world, K03 is a joke, K03sport is the same stupid little turbo, and a K04 is no bigger really.

They can still squeeze a decent amount of power out of those, they really can. Its very unefficient at those boost levels, but, hey. Still more power.

22 psi from a ko3 sport.... I'd rather have 15 from a correctly sized turbo.

The turbo is sized perfect for what the car is. If you drive a stock jetta 1.8t or even a chipped one with exahust. The cars are alot smother. WRX boost almost seems like its on or off. The 1.8T is not supose to be the high performance model anyways. The VR6 is.

its still small for the 1.8t... fyi, they are undersized for economy, they still starve the motors

How is it unreliable? I dont really see any major problems with them. They do have a few comon deals but every car does.

They seem over complicated if you don't know anything about them. I have worked on alot of VR6s. I will admit they are a little overwhelming at first but once you mess with them a little bit they are quite easy to deal with. I would say they are one of the better VW motors.

yeah they are one of the better, but they are no MK3 2.0 either, IMO thats hands down the best motor VW made to date. but yeah, VR6= pain in the ass IMHO

ok subie boys welcome to VW school.

    KO3 pateticlay tiny
KO3 spot. tiny but alittle better.
KO4 the standard upgrade to the KO3 alittle bigger and better flowing. maybe 40whp increase.

if you really want VW power GT30R. should make 300+whp with revo.

or you can be ghetto like me and make a turbo set up for a N/A motor with a subie turbo. then your car is mad sexy.

VR6=PAIN IN ANY VW OWNERS ASS. dont touch a VR6 without expecting problems. good lord i hate VR6's.

if you follow the guidelines for a VR6 you will be ok. but boost ans **** is a HUGE PAIN. intake and exhauts. dont do any more.

as for the ko3 though. it is a seriously undersized turbo. most VW modders dump it really fast. or just crank the hell out of them. you can run 23psi with them. but you can hit limp mode like that. very bad. get diodes. problem solved. but the problem is anything over 20psi the turbo leaks and does stupid ****. save yourself the pain and throw that **** in the gabage.

give me a good solid subie or garret turbo any day. well worth the money in my mind. will save you lots of pains and you can make some fun wheel hopping power! LOL! HORRAY FOR DRIVING THE WRONG WHEELS!

thank you i will be here all week. i heart my VW. but it needs tweaks. SUBIE FORUMS VW GOD OUT!

My roommates Jetta GLI is a surprisingly quick little card with I'm assuming a little td03 and 1.8 liter engine... Not the WRX but not too far off either!

The one thing we should realize is that it still has TURBOZZZ!!!

I would take his GLI over most other compact midsize cars with the exception of a WRX/STI or an older M3... He has some blizzaks on it right now and it handles the snow better than most 2 wheel drive vehicles!!!
