My Federal tires were toast and I wanted to jump to a wider wheel because sometimes 18x.9.5 just isn't enough...so the Advans came off (some people are probably going to scoff at me, because they looked pretty darn good). The Advans are 18x9.5, +45 offset, and I was using a 10mm spacer in the front to get enough strut to tire clearance to run the amount of negative camber that I wanted in the front (-3.7 degrees) Old: Advan TCIII 18x9.5 +45 offset 10mm spacer in the front, none in the rear Weight: approximately 20 lbs per wheel ...And jumped on the Enkei RFP1 badwagon. Wider, lighter, cheaper. 18x10 +38 offset 10mm spacers are still in the front, but I will be installing a 5mm next week instead. I need at least a 5mm spacer to clear the brembos, and I should still have enough strut/tire clearance. Weight: about 19 lbs per wheel Pics: (if anyone attempts to call this stanced, I put strap you in the passenger seat, take you for a ride, and then as you for your opinion ) And here are the new and old side by side. Right: Old setup; Federal 595 RSR, 265/35-18 on the 9.5" wide Advan TCIII's Left: New setup; Hankook RS3 V2, 265/35-18 on the 10" wide RFP1's Initial driving impressions of the Federal RSR vs. the Hankook RS3 V2...the sidewalls on the RS3's definitely feel squishier than the Federals, even though the wheels are wider and the tire pressures are higher with the RPF1/Hankook setup. I've heard this feedback from others also. It could be partially due to the brand new, unbroken-in thick tread on the Hankooks and the very worn Federals, but time will tell.
No one would call -3.7 stance. Lol Nice wide light wheels but yeah those advans looked good. Are your fenders rolled or pulled at all? I think I asked before but can't remember.
Dude, I know Race Car but two words. Clay Bar! It's embarrassing to see those cone marks. I think if you were running 225s on those wheel we could call you stanced. Looks good!
My front fenders are untouched but the rears are rolled flat, barely pulled. The rear tires look to stick out past the fender by only a little bit (maybe a 1/2"), but they haven't rubbed yet. I probably won't know if it rubs until I get on the autox course. I know. The exterior cleanliness has been lacking and it's bothering me. Lack of time to properly clean it and I've been focused on the mechanical aspects...plus, those cone marks are not easy to remove from the clear bra. I'm not even sure if I will be able to get the black marks off the clear bra, but that's why it's there. I've thought about getting a new clear bra, but it is mid season lol.
I was waiting to see who the first clever person would be You're welcome to a ride along whenever you come down to the cities!
Here's some pics of the new wheels in action: Results from MOWOG 4: 1st in class (RTX), 24th overall out of 124 on PAX adjusted times, and 14th on raw times. And I also discovered that these are very easy to clean, given the spoke design. Here's an after shot (I don't have a before shot, but they were full of brake dust): And here are my preferred weapons for cleaning...good long handle brush and the Meguiars Hot Rims all wheel cleaner...the stuff works better than other brand name cleaners on the shelf at auto zone and it's a lot cheaper than Sonax wheel cleaner. I've found the Meguiar's to be cheapest at Menards (about half of what Auto Zone charges).
