So I had my new windshield put in today. He scratched the hell out of my hood and fender on the pass. side when he was cutting the old one out. Of course he said it was already there... But I put new wiper inserts in last night---they weren't there.

Is this even worth complaining to Safelite about?? It really pisses me off that he won't own up to it.

you are probably just going to get a run around. they will argue that unless you took pictures right before he installed the window, that they were in fact already there.
but who knows what could happen, you could talk a big talk and they back down and give you what you are asking. but more than likely your just going to have to bend over and take it where the sun doesn't shine..

I highly doubt forgetting about it is the way to go. Shibbs, have you talked to the manager of this place, or just the guy who caused the damage?

Just the installer. He said it was already there since I have had the windshield replaced before.

One problem - it wasn't rusty. It was fresh.

Yeah, but my version of "fixing it" is "LIKE IT WAS BEFORE XXXX ****ED IT UP."

And no, there was no touch-up paint on it before it was dinged. So I want it that way.

Go after them and don't back down, it will get taken care of if you work your way up through the customer service rep chain.

Was this through your insurance company or did you pay out of pocket? If it is through your insurance company report it to them and get pics of it ASAP to send them.

Because there were an extra day out for some reason. Not 100% sure. We use Safelite here at Lexus as well, but it was a different guy. I didn't think it would be bad. I guess I was wrong. I'll definitely be using Boulay 100% from now on.

wow , sorry to hear it , i hope you get this worked out

as a side note , i think some people dont have a clue. example...i went for a quick oil change at a valvoline place in chaska , i was sitting in my p.o.s. jeep and watching some punk lean all over the driver side front fender while checking stuff under the hood of the suv in the next bay....the problem was he was wearing a jacket with a heavy metal zipper....with it unzipped....big metal zipper rubbing all over this guys new suv fender, i wish i would of called him out on it as the owner of said suv was also sitting in his car , not even paying attention

Well, this is partially my fault. Turns out we here at Lexus us AUTO GLASS EXPRESS in addition to Boulay, NOT Auto Glass Specialists... FML.

Still. Boulay or nothing next time.

fight it shibbs, I had that happen to my wrx when I first got it, and I took it back the next day, they told me to go get an estimate to fix it. did that, and the body shop sent the bill to the glass shop.

I used to put windshields in and it happends I always let my boss know what happend and most of the time we fixed it unless it was a used car for the lot. fight it, talk straight to the boss/manager and dont mess around with lower employees then that. And get pissed if they dont listen 1 customer lost equals prolly 20 or so after word of mouth just think that because of this story noone on this forum will use this place now.
