Hey everyone, I've had a 02 wrx for about two years and just wanted to join and see what's all on the site, so far it's been pretty entertaining. My car is all stock, just haven't had the time to do anything to it since I put a lot of miles on it and am hoping to get something a little newer. So I've just been holding off for the last couple years since I always plan to sell it and buy something else that I can put some money into. I guess that's how it goes.
I've always been a firm believer in the saving money and starting with a better platform idea. Welcome!
well, I know it's pretty ambitious, but I'd really like a 2005 sti with relatively low miles, preferably black... ok it has to be black, and somewhere under $20k, thats why I'm taking my time, don't really want to be completely broke after I buy one and then have to wait to drive it until I can afford gas you know, ha.
yeah, definately, I bought this car with the plan to just enjoy it and wait until I can get something better and stick with that
Yeah, I started with a wrx and put an exhaust & tune on it but that was it. Then I decided to save money and upgrade to an '05 sti instead of buying more mods. Figured the money saved by not blowing up my tranny was better spent on an sti
Just take your time and wait for the deal to find you! I waited/looked for almost a year untill I found my car.. Best thing I ever did was not to settle on something that was "kinda" what I wanted. If you wait for it, it will come! Dont buy somethingt that you cannot afford to have fun with either, no point in having a sweet car that you cant take out of the garge for fear of insurance going up or not being able to fill er up. Best of luck on your searches; welcome! :wavey:
here are some things to think about. If you are looking 20k or around that you might want to go new. 1. if you get 0% on the loan for a new or newer car then you can save 5k - 7k just on interest. Some car loans can be anywhere from 4% - 9% depending on your credit. if you add that to the price of a used car then your difference between used and new is not going to be that big. 2. insurance will give you a bigger discount on a new or newer car. usually 2 years old is the cut off. this could save you a few hundred dollars a year, which could equal a car payment or two. 3. less miles could = less problems just some things i found out when i was looking for a used car and went new instead.
Definately, I have thought about buying new instead, i guess when the time comes to sell and buy an sti I'll have to take a hard look at everything, all I know for sure right now is I want to have another subaru I've had such few problems with a really fun car so I'm very pro-subarus, i figure some of you might feel the same? ha
