Yes Idget, the rates you are showing are correct. We don't have any new 2008 STi's, and the program you linked to is an internal Subaru program for high volume dealers, not a consumer rebate. That is correct. Being a best price store again we have to abide by many laws and regulations the attorney general puts in place because we are registered to the state as "Best Price" and not "Negotiating". Its hard to give extra money away unless we bump our general 08 sti discount to "X" amount off for every customer. Therefore, some dealers would grant this for the customer if you knew about it and asked. This dealer incentive isn't even paid out to the dealers until the end of the year so if they were willing to take that big of a hit that is up to them, but then again car dealerships is not a non-profit organization so they are making money somewhere. I would be interested to know which dealers are taking these hits on the STi's?
Gotcha, thanks for the explanation. I am shopping for an 08 STI (among other cars) for a friend. I've talked to 5 dealerships so far that will give the 0% as well as (various) cash incentives. One in town, 2 back in Kansas, and 2 back in California. Given the shipping and travel expenses involved, although the out of state dealers are offering better cash incentives than the local dealer (and because I've dealt with the local dealer before), we will probably be purchasing (if he decides on the STI) from the local dealer.
Which is correct if you're looking at cars in different markets. All markets have different incentives for dealers/consumers. Too bad we don't have an 08 sti on our lot for you to compare discounts, advantages, etc. Good luck on the purchase!

:i was thinkin about this gettin this car but when i went and looked at it.. it looked like you guys took no care of it there was a huge rockchip by the gas cap like penny size and also little ones on front.. this prob had somethin to do w/it being at state fair
