I don't have a scooby yet but looking at bugeyes as they are in my price range. A reliable Cobb stage 2 wagon or sedan sounds fun for a DD. Tips as to what to look out for?

I'm coming from a mitsu background.

At this point I would look for service records, if and where it was tuned, what after market parts ,etc.

Also with older wrx's i would ask to see a current compression test of the engine to see what kind of health it sits in. better to be safe than sorry, and know what you are walking into.

I guess it varies on how mechanically inclined you are, or if you have money set aside for repairs or rebuilds.

Is there a recommended shop to bring a vehicle in for a inspection? Like RS or another place?

Typical favorites around here have been NF or RS

What he said, plus only get a wagon because wagons have 150 more hp ;)

I would ideally like a wagon for the line of work I do but I'll see what comes about when time is ready to pull the trigger

Looks clean and stock to me. I would get it checked out mechanically as others have mentioned. Maybe get the price down a hair, but otherwise not a bad option.

I'd tend to look for a stock-ish car and then do any mods you want yourself, too often pre-modded means done wrong and/or beat up IMHO.

Cool! I've talked to nf and their prices for a comp test/inspection is pretty fair.

    Thanks!

That car seems pretty clean. I agree on the price with TMF given the mileage try to lower it a bit. Good Luck!

Thanks! Is there other shops besides nf i could bring it to? That would accept walk ins? Highly doubtful but curious. Just want to keep my options open and possibly closer to south Minneapolis if that's where he lives.

Bank is a go on my side so hopefully he still has it. I've been in touch with him via email. Hopefully take this thing home with me this weekend.

Sold it before I got there. Bummer. He was a cool older guy though.

    The hunt continues.
