Good Afternoon Everyone, My name is Roger and I guess I'm a newbie here all the way around, lol. I recently moved to Chanhassen, MN from Anderson, SC. It's definately a big change for my family and I. I am the proud new owner of a 09 WRX, which is my first Subaru. I previously had a 09 Honda Fit, 99 Mustang Cobra, and a modified 00 Ford Focus. I would like to get involved with GTGs and Charity events in the Twin Cities area, at least as much as my family and work allow me time to do, lol. This site seems really cool and I like the way it is tapered to the MN area.
WOOHOO! Welcome Roger! Stay tuned to the events section and see all the events we do. Also, sign up for MNSOC for special events like our winter meet coming up next weekend. Here's some links to get you started, post any questions or feel free to PM me! http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35333 Toys for Tots Drive http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35966 MNSOC Winter meet http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35684 MNSOC membership details
Welcome fellow '09 WRX owner. There are some great links if you need to find Winter Tires. http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35041 As well did you end up getting a hatch or the coupe? Color? Pics?
I grew up in Chan, It's a great little town and a nice place to raise a family! Anyway, welcome to the club! Mike
Welcome! Hopefully the cold won't scare you away. Once we get some snow, you'll be able to take full advantage of your new car.
It's gonna definitely take some time to get used to the cold and weather here, but I will survive, lol, I hope. Chanhassen, so far, has been a nice place to live and I hope it stays that way. The Mustang and Focus were very good cars and fun to work on, lol, so they will always be good memories for me. Now, though, I have the WRX and I am pretty excited about the car. I just crossed 1k miles so I'm mostly done with the breakin. Here are some pictures: and a few pictures of the previous cars: mine's the blue one: So that's me.
Son of a B****, no Bojangles in MN, lol. I'm gonna miss Bojangles, Krystal Burger and Whataburger. Starting to get used to Culvers though.
I was initially going to move to Chaska, over in the Hazeltine community, but for now I had to settle for an apartment in Chanhassen until my house in South Carolina sells.
chaska is ok, but driving any where but EP is a bit of a drive. but im used to driving a hour and a half to go to MOA, so its better than it used to be. And how much did you do to your focus? I used to have an 03 exactly like yours but yellow, that i stuck WAY to much money into. Fast little buggers aren't they? but sadly a lil ol' lady didn't realize a stop sign actually means stop..and that was the day the foci died.
I had too much money in my Focus as well. It was an excellant auto x car though. I had a blast with it in the Virginia Beach/ Pungo area. I had all the basic bolt ons: intake, full exhaust including long tube header, off road mid pipe, catback, 65mm tb, coil and wires, Crane stg2 cams, adjustable cam gears, dyno tuned, and a few other misc items. My favorite mods were in the chassis/ suspension area though. I had replaced the entire suspension set up with eibach, h&r, and prothane parts. The car was like a go cart, lol.
Could be worse, like Carver or something :hsugh: Shakopee is nice with the freeway access an all if you did not grow up here and are trying to get away. I hate Pioneer Trial with a passion, although 312 has made things nicer for that neck of the woods.
sounds basically like mine, except i supercharged mine.. was in the process of finding the parts needed to swap to rear wheel drive mustang powered machine... but best of luck with the subaru, awd kicks ass..
Welcome. You got the right car for MN. Check out www.mnautox.com if you'd like to get into autox with your wrx.
Yeah, It was a nice car and I wouldn't have minded keeping it, but it had a lot of HARD miles (130,000 +). I used to go to the dragstrip a lot. The guy who bought it from the dealership I traded it to, tore it up about 6 months later. My old tuner at Amazon Tuning Solutions had it the last time I saw it trying to fix it. So, I may have gotten out of it just in time, who knows.
