I left after I saw this..... On my way home, it was pouring so hard, cars were parked everywhere along the side of the road. I guess I was the only dumb arse who kept driving since I was the only one on the road.
I wanna thank everyone that was able to come out and share the evening with us. I appreciated the opportunity to meet some new people from our community and just have some fun learning more about our cars. I hope the course wasn't too long and boring for some of you. My favorite part was seeing Derek work his tail off while helping me set up the course, I've never seen the man work so hard ever, well not since I handed him that torque wrench. I also wanted to thank all my team members, course workers, volunteers and most importantly the participants. I also thought the food was great, I wish I would've hydrated more. I hope everyone made out safely. We were lucky we only caught the tail end of that storm. The winds came in super fast and poured heavy rain and hail, even blew over the port-a-potty. The team and I stayed behind and waited the storm out at the school. We got another hour on the track and then we cleaned everything up in the second wave of the heavy rain. I think the best course of action for us was to seek shelter and wait it thru, I'm glad our team kept an eye on the storm as it started moving towards our direction. Had it been worst we wouldve started heading in the opposite direction since everyone on on the road will be in a panic either driving extra extra slow or seeking shelter under a bridge which is very dangerous and there's standing water. Photo's only tell half the story, thanks for taking them mr. K. Zilla old buddy old pal! Rain-X is yo friend. Thanks for keeping it safe!!!
I rolled into my apartment garage about five minutes before the second round hit. It was an interesting drive from DCTC to about the 55/52N split... pretty heavy rainfall. Only heard a handful of very small hailstones bounce off the car, I don't think I ended up with any dents. The miata pulling underneath the house was excellent. Wish I could have grabbed a picture
yeah I need a smaller NF shirt. I picked that up when I was 20lbs heavier. At this point I might as well wait till I lose the rest of it. Great night. Thanks for the pics.
Sorry I didn't stay under the bridge with you. I think my battery is totally shot because the electricals would barely stay on when I would idle for too long. Probably why it died right before the rain and caused Jordan (and others) to get really wet...
Also, I have some photos to post as well. I don't have nearly as many people or car shots in the staging area. Mine are mostly from on the track. I think I got most people. I will try to get them edited tonight. I only did about half of them last night and then I was too tired.
Here are mine. More here: http://www.benjohnsonphotography.com/Cars/Other/20130806-NF-Performance-at/n-JV2jw
There's something about that yellow WRX. I freaken love it..... Its pure sex........................................
It's bolted up, actually stood off that far. Might need to change that up, that just lost me another 1/2-3/4" of ground clearance on top of the 3/8" of metal.
Your cars hazards going off on hard corners was keeping me entertained...it let me know how hard you were going on the car
Omg is that black one still on winters??? Who does that???!!! They are prolly going to have to buy someone new winters
Video of me chasing trying to chase Mr. 03subyR on the 2nd run. You are quick and your car very nimble.
