So the NF guys decided take a trip to Cedar Falls Raceway to participate in the Midnight Mania drag races (instead of attending the RS Dyno Day) Ko (kvang) was consistently running 10.7's all night. Matt (Juks) was able to hit 10.8 also. Here's the final slip of the night, with Ko taking first place and Matt taking second Enjoy -NF
10.7 poked it's noise on the very first run despite executive orders from Houston. But sometimes you just have to go with your gut feelings. That sneaky quite guy pulled it off again. Two years in a row, bang, bang! I wish the rest of the team could've seen his last run, KVang as you know is now a changed man. The passion that has poised his heart to win all these years has come to reveal itself last night, a more focused, balanced and determined driver. Capt Juks - also had an amazing night. Struggled with 225 tires but did exceptionally well after experiencing some real race tires setting a best time of 10.8, and then 11.2 after switching back to the 225 Star Specs. Repeat after me, "smooth is fast" lol Ong - I don't think we can call you rooky anymore especially after last night's performance. Great execution, sir! Congrats to the whole team and your tireless continued support and belief in what we strive to do as friends, family and as a team.
What an awesome experience with a great team! That feeling when you know you nailed it, before you even pick up your slip, priceless! Thanks so much for the opportunity to experience it! And thanks again Ko & team for letting me use some real tires, the difference is simply amazing! 16 people for 3 cars, that's a team. One guy running around with a torque wrench catching every car after every run, another with a tire pressure gauge making sure everyone is dialed in. Nuke was doing on the fly tunes to get it just right. An entire pit crew helping swap rims between two cars...twice! Our own personal driving coach to keep our minds right, and 4 drivers trying to keep it cool. And you can't forget the bleachers full of family and friends to cheer us on. That's what it takes to pull a pair of 10's and a fast ass 20G Legacy running 11's. Gotta love it! (Car #33 35R STI vs. CTS-V)
Great job Matt. Man was I excited when you also hit the 10's. I know there's a lot more left, but this is a good start
NF was well represented at the Dyno day. Lots of happy NF customers!!!! Glad you guys were successful and had a good time.
I'm not sure how to respond to this tread, I already thanked(most of them) the people that was there/not there. All I gotta say is it was a really good experience or refreshing the mind this weekend. Thank You again NF crew for the support!! Ben, your turn Bro!!
Not hard with your setup. Just need some drags and you'll be able to if you are able to hit all the targets
I wish I knew you guys went. I wanted to go but didn't feel like driving by myself. Everyone else had a wedding to go to.
Here's my 11.2 run. I have a really crappy quality video of the 10.8, Nuke I'll get that to you today or tonight.
^ I just posted that because Jalopnik had it on their page as the 1st story I saw this morning... I thought it was funny that you said something about Mr. Windy City. So can you tune flame throwers on the back of my car?
Well drag isn't really my thing, but damn, those things are fast! Good work guys. Pretty cool to hear that there is a whole team up there, I wouldn't mind coming up to watch some time! ...I wish we had a team of 16 for autox.
I also want to thank mr. Tash and soon to be mrs Tash for providing our means for transportation and transport of the Katana safely to and from the event.
I saw that and was thinking the same thing. Also do you have a flower girl picked out yet? I am free that weekend, just sayin'
Mr. Tash did the honorable thing to help you save your reputation and picked up where you should've been and torqued the lug nut's on all the cars after each run. Slack'n are we, just say'n!
I'll remember to bring you a Bow so that next time you can show us your educated fancy movies. You and Jackie Chan can demonstrate lol
