Howdy, friends we will host our first NF Performance test and training day on April 14 at DCTC. This will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know our family better and experience our core values and see our expertise at work. As part of our program we will be offering three different opportunities outlined below. We can help you with improving your current driving skills, enhance your vehicles current performance setup and also provide you consultation with developing a winning setup for upcoming events. Three Run Groups: 1.Novice Drivers Training – Anyone who is looking for some constructive practical and fun behind the wheel instructions to will help you become a better driver as well as helping you enjoy your vehicle. You’ll be paired up with a knowledgeable and experienced Driving Instructor who will help teach you some basic car control. They will get you out of your comfort zone and challenge you to have fun. 2.Developing your current setup – Here we’ll assist you with setting up your vehicle with all the toys you had received from last Christmas and prior. We will have a fully staffed pit crew ready and standing by to help optimize your vehicle and help you test it and sort it out. We recommend installation of all new parts completed at a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the event and inspected by a respectable shop. We will be only assisting you with sorting out your vehicle and will not installing any parts on track unless parts have failed and can be easily swapped within a reasonable time that would not impact other drivers. 3.Intermediate/Advance Driver – If you’re looking for a refresher course to get your pre-season started and would like some 101 with one of our instructors for some pointers or if you just want to do some shake downs to get the winter blues out of your system, this is perfect for you. We will be providing a light breakfast and will be having pizza for lunch along with water and beverages throughout the day. We will have three run groups. DCTC is a great place to learn about car control without needing a car that can go really fast. I think the slightly lower speeds (vs. BIR) are actually more conductive to learning something, rather than just seeing how high your speedometer can go.
I really like the technical stuff @ BIR... so this should be a good time. As long as Ben isn't in my class
Did they get it resurfaced, last time some friends of mine went this summer they said it was super sketchy with piles of rubble everywhere. If it is fixed I would be interested!
I would like to suggest that for those who currently have cars that are still being worked on that you may want to consider spending time just getting reaccumulated with being behind the wheel in a structured environment. One of the first and most important steps I do when I'm preparing for my season is just getting into the environment in a simple and reliable car. Just checking out the scenary, smelling the spring race fuel, tasting the rubber and getting that winter heart beat pumping out of my system.
The price is GREAT! You won't find DCTC time for cheaper then $150. The BWM club does offer $100 days, but you need to spend $50 on the membership to get that deal (so $150). You can easily spend $300 - $400 @ BIR and get on the track 4 sessions (30 minutes) in one day.
Price is more than reasonable. Hell, if it's more than 15 minutes it's cheaper than autox/rallyx. These types of events usually give you more than an hour of seat time.
We usually start putting the kids to bed just after lunch. But seriously for new driver it will a lot and for seasoned it will be just right. And for legacy driver's like BroCo it won't be enough. But you must remember that we are offering more then just seat time for that price.
Really good pricing, like was mentioned plenty of seat time. Last time we went people were tired/going home before the day was done. You'll see how tired you feel after driving on the track all day.
Oh man, two events at DCTC in two weeks...I guess I'm going to be burning up my old summer tires quicker than I thought!
but you are a legacy driver right?? haha I am so there for this not sure what car I will be bringing, since I cant make to the rallyx the day before this will be awesome. I am toying with the idea of selling my impreza and spending the money on some legacy upgrades (suspension, stage 2) so I can start autoxing more...
Is there anything else needed other than a car? I'd be interested in doing this, but don't have a helmet or anything.
Hmm interesting, are there going to be any speed limits? I mean, I'm used to wearing my helmet when I'm just driving in a parking lot and frantically dodging random cones!
This is not be a timed event and there will not be any prizes to hand out except a pat on the back. We will be offering coaching and assisting you with sorting out your car. Helmets will not be required and we will be enforcing the 55mph limit. It's going to a lot of fun and you will learn a lot. We will be bringing lots of extra H2O for my Legacy driver - BroCo. I've been involved in many different club events and I'm really looking forward to offering something that is more geared toward helping the individual develop the driver and car together.
Thanks, I'm sure it will still be a good event, and I'm looking forward to it. Will you help me sort out my stock car? lol, although I would like to neutralize the understeer and I'm open to suggestions
