I know, I know... this is a Subaru board and I am a Subaru Admin/Mod but I just can't help but admire what Nissan is doing next... New 2007 Maxima, Altima and Sentra are looking good. The recently release M ship and the new 2007 G35 Sedan and 2008 Coupe are looking sexy IMO. They are on my must get one of them list. http://www.autoweek.com/files/specials/2006_newyork/infiniti/g35/pages/01.htm The one must have will be the new GT-R... GT-R will be sold in U.S. with Nissan badge instead of Infiniti as rumors: http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060412/FREE/60412003/1062/FREE Hello Toyota... are you listening? *cricket chirp chirp chirp...
i like it, nissan has always had thier @#$%!@#$%!@#$%!@#$%! together. subaru and nissan share alot of the same parts, mostly electrical, but hey.
Toyota is getting into the Family buyers...Comfort, style, Space...I think right now performance is the last thing on there mind. Honda however is getting a bit serious on there performance side...the new NSX I heard was going to be a screamer and the new RDX SUV is going Turbo? Hondas first Turbo Stocker.
^ yup. If they cared they would still be building Supra's. Its a niche market and Nissan isn't even a second thought in there mind I'm sure. They are already becoming the largest auto manufacturer with their family cars.
Well even if they do, which I'm skeptical about. The sports car market didn't make Toyota and it sure won't break them.
Theyre gonna lose thousands in badge sales if its already badged "Nissan" from the factory! That concept would look mean in black. But whats with toyota saying they'll re-release the supra/supra-esque Lexus? They keep saying it but never deliver. Rumors were 40k for the v6 and 50k for the v8 Supra to be release oct 07... what does everyone think the gtr will end up going for? mark up?
They should have the GT-R, just like the WRX TR...Comes in base and upgrade from there...40k is a good start...Can add 10k worth of Nismo Upgrades. Motor remains stock with AWD. I'd say 380-400hp/350-370 tq Twin turbo V6 AWD would be good for stock. If that is the spec they are going with. Plus in the Rally Blue with 19 in. 6 spoke chrome black rims and polished lip...255/40/19 Tires...HAWT!
no more supra....if you're talking about that one concept they had. it's gonna be badge by lexus if they release it and its not keeping the supra name.
ill say 40k start for gtr and i bet it will be sold pretty fast... maybe.?.. but for supra i dobt it big time unless they are jealous or something lol
"IF" the GT-R falls in the $40k-50k list... which I have a feeling it very well may. I'll be in line for sure and that'll be a long line as well... It's just the right thing to do.
^yes true, but the gtr trim (version) is not available here yet. I think 40-50k is a steal considering what they go for overseas and what the supra/vr4/rx-7 etc went for new ~10 years ago. I hope the gtr is a success and stays here awhile. Competition = (hopefully) more and more performance oriented cars!
The GT-R will not be base on the Skyline (G35) platform. It's a whole new car as stated by Mr. Carlos Ghosn (Nissan CEO). Not sure but the engine is either going to fall with a VQ 3.5 or 3.8 TT setup pushing somewhere in the 450+hp range. We'll just have to wait until fall of 2007 when it's unvail in Japan autoshow. The US won't get it until 2008... so start saving up guys/gals.
Didn't any of you see Nissan's official GTR Concept website a few months ago? They shut it down for now...but it had pictures of what it will probably look like. www.gtrproto.com I believe is the site.
The new g35 Sedan is sexy, and with 300+ hp and a 7500 redline, i bet its gonna be a quick car. Im trying to talk my dad into it when his lease is up. I just want a few new things out of this G, a 5mt or 6mt manual on the AWD, and i hope they continue making the AWD, and i hope their lease deals are good again. And the new GT-R, damn sexy.
