So i got in my car this morning start it up let warm for a few min, and then go to work 200 ft from my driveway i notice the oil light is on!!! So i pull inside my garage real quick, shut it off let it sit a few, and check the oil......"NOTHING"
I put 2.5 quarts in my car to get to the dealership "its all i had" they say, you should let your car warm up before you drive it, i say i do for 5 min, then they say you drive it too hard, i say maybe, but it has never happened before! i threw them " i have never had this thing happen at bloomington subaru, and you are not making a good first service impression" they found no oil leaks or anything! what could cause this i had 2800 miles on the change, tbe, Turbo-xs shorty, thats it?

    any ideas?

I kinda had the same thing happen to me at the end of the summer. Went to check my oil and there was next to nothing in it!!!! That was my one freebe, make sure you chek your oil EVERYTIME you get gas.

You will have to prove to them that you are consuming more than 1 quart per 1000 miles of driving -- which it sounds like in this case -- for a dealership to do anything about it.

I'm guessing a bad oil seal on the turbo; it's fairly common.

when ya push the car hard some oil gets into the intake and burned in the engine. also you might want to check under the car. if your headers are turning all black that is a sign you have a leak. also check all round the engine area (under, on teh valve covers, ect..) i had leaks fromt he oil pump and valve covers and lost more than 1qt every 1000 miles.

Sorry Tim, it was my fault. I was running low on oil and figured if I used some of yours it'd give me 50whp. I just forgot to add more oil :(

Probably unrelated, but for some reason now the only music I can pick up on my stereo is the Batman theme. The really annoying one from the old TV show.

I've heard that upto 1 quart per 1000 miles is considered to be normal to subaru.

Yeah, that should be alright. The number here is 763-582-7455 for service. Ask for Jeff A, he's the service manager. Just let him know who you are and what's going on. I'll also talk to him in the morning.

Or did you mean Brian at Minnetonka?

Heh, the guy I sold my turbo RS to asked me what that crazy chattering noise was when it was cold out. At first I looked at him like he was crazy, then I remembered it's his first Subaru
